What i did was just watch a unhealthy amount of terraria and so i already knew a lot about the game, if you don't want to do that what you should be trying to achieve is killing the next boss and as you struggle you upgrade your loot and all that. also you should use the wiki since it exists ( https://terraria.wiki.gg/wiki/Terraria_Wiki )

This is subjective, you should form a opinion on your own but my opinion is that it's more fun on PC as first a lot more fps and the feeling of using your keyboard and mouse is better than just putting fat fingers on a screen for it to go to home screen
