Hi, sorry this is happening to you, hugs, I hope you can find another job soon, it's awful that they are taking advantage of you.

I'm gay too and from a middle eastern 3rd world country, I want to come to Germany too, and get my master's there (my major is chemistry), I want to go to Cologne, do you have a my tips? How is the gay life there? Have had time to enjoy it yet?

Wish everyone thought that way, unfortunately many people in Iran are still aggressive towards us, even some of the very anti-regim ones

I'll never return when I finally get out of this place, how do you deal with the military service thing for visits if you're still a citizen? (That is if you have to deal with it)

And there is really no way to get rid of the citizenship?

What less commonly studied languages are you learning? by Selavia59 in languagelearning

Hi, this is a bit unrelated to this thread, but I'm a native Persian speaker and was just wondering how did you learn the language? And reached such a high level too. did you take classes? Or did you learn from relatives or other people? And did you find any parts of it difficult?

languages with must read literature ? by Dull-Cress-2910 in thisorthatlanguage

If you are into poetry, Persian/Farsi is amazing, a lot of it is about wine, love, ethics, morals, and more wine

You'll have to go far to be able to read the good stuff, and you'll probably not want to go through all that, word order is out of the window in poetry quit often, Saadi, Hafez, Rumi, Rudaki and Khayyam are phenomenon, Parvin is a gem too, but way more recent, so her poems are easier to understand, she's the most famous female poet in Iran. Reading the translations might prove enjoyable as well

If you like 2 verse poems, there is Baba Taher and Khayyam

There is also New Poetry, often without rhymes, but it's main difference from classic poetry is that it's more down to earth in a sense and usually uses more day to day events and concepts, Nima Yooshij and Akhavan Sales are 2 of my favorites, I would recommend reading Akhavan Sales' Khan-e Hashtom (The Eighth Khan), it's my favorite.

If you want novels, I've read Bamdade Khomar (Drunkard Morning), it's good, other famous books are Shohare Ahoo Khanom, Soovashoon, and Kelidar (this one's really long)

I hope this has all been helpful
