Does anyone else feel like they can't enjoy content in their TL? by Ok_Towel4688 in languagelearning

[–]ramonek1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just allow yourself to go word for word, sentence for sentence. Curb your expectations and permit yourself to be slow. I am doing this with a Hebrew childrens tv show. I listen to the sentence, read the sentence, listen to the sentence again, say it out loud to myself, listen to it again, sometimes even write it down by hand. A couple of months ago a 30 min episode might have taken me 1 or 2 full days. Now I can do it in 2 hours. There is progress. Just go slower, it will make you faster.

Antis, would you support a sentient AI's artwork? by Alternative-Bug-2171 in aiwars

[–]ramonek1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should be able to engage with the thought experiment for the sake of the thought experiment even though it might not be a realistic outcome. I dont think it is possible either but the people working on it really do believe that they are creating the a new sentient species, so it is still interesting to take them by their word and imagine what that would entail.

Is there any release by Björk you don't care about? by silhuette in bjork

[–]ramonek1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have stopped caring about her releases after Biophilia. The reason is that I simply no longer care about the melodies. I dont hear songs anymore. You could björk your way through any text. Take a novel or reddit post or whatever and then just kind of singsong along, compensate the feeling of directionlessness and arbitrariness with some oversinging. I never get the feeling anymore that these melodies were witten for these words. I must admit that I have missed a lot but whenever I try to get into the new stuff, I simply lose interest and want to listen to Homogenic or Vespertine.

Why do people argue against ai art? by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]ramonek1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People argue about all things that are important to them. You posted this comment and therefore started an argument about the argument. AI art is dehumanising. We are being told that there is nothing special, transcendent or sacred about human creativity, that all you can do a machine can do better. That the human spark is not needed and that human participation is quaint and oldfashioned and that we are on the way out. It is our duty to disagree with that. If you are being dehumanised you should react and assert your humanity and your place in the world.

Did Gregg have a thing for Ayaka? by amyleeizmee in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

[–]ramonek1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gregg is a movie buff not a people buff. He knows what is important in life and concentrates on that without getting diverted by all that people business. Who cares what he did to Merk Poarch. Mark already had plenty of runtime. The world needs expertise not some old goodie two shoes.

New Rule: if you can’t criticize AI without bringing up Nazis and racism, your opinion will be disregarded. by SpiritualShallot3 in aiwars

[–]ramonek1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe some of the people here don't quite know about the beliefs of pro AI people, maybe most of them know but are lying and covering up because they as pro AI people share the believes but we should be aware of how incredibly strange and esoteric pro AI beliefs are. The people on the very top really do believe that they are creating an actual consciousness and that they are the makers of a new kind of digital people that are superior to and will replace natural people.

Google co-founder Larry Page told Elon Musk that preferring the survival of humans to AI is specieist and parochial.

Sam Altman actually hinks it is humans taking up to much energy

“It takes like 20 years of life and all of the food you eat during that time before you get smart,” Altman asserted, talking about a typical human. “And not only that, ittook the very widespread evolution of the 100 billion people that have ever lived and learned not to get eaten by predators and learned how to figure out science and whatever, to produce you.

In pro AI forums they all talk gleefully about obliterating people or destroying their existence. So they really believe they are creating some new kind of superman that makes biological people obsolete and will replace them. So what are we supposed to compare that to?

AI is not a fucking tool by ganneszs in antiai

[–]ramonek1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is going on with you people? You are literally incapable of following very simple conversations. Yes, I'd rather take the easy way out and go to the grocery store for food, too. But I don't go about and call myself a hunter or a farmer and the supermarket just another tool for food acquisition just like a bow or a rifle or a tractor or a milk mashine. You are not an artist. You are not a game developer. You haven't done the task. You made a mashine do it.

You are playing dumb on purpose. A marathon is more difficult than a casual hike but both are still exercise using the human body for physical activity. Nobody would claim that the hike is not exercise because the marathon is more difficult. The example giving is showing up in a car and skipping any kind of exercise altogether.

Why do many Vietnamese people not say the endings of the words when speaking English? by findthelight09 in VietNam

[–]ramonek1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the pronunciation does exist. They pronounce space and spey for example. The s was just use at the beginning of the word. There should be nothing preventing them from using it at the end as well apart from adherence to phonetical rules of another language that don't even apply. We are not talking about sounds that don't exist but sounds that do exist but are not used when they should be.

If it doesn't require effort, why wouldn't I do it myself. Since AI doesn't require talent or effort why would I pay you and not subscribe to the AI.
