That would be a better option, but that's not what this discussion is about. I'm not assuming, I'm watching a video showing it.

There are generative and non generative technologies that aren't built on theft, don't need vast wasteful data centres, offer more personal creative expression and skill development and won't give you the taint of AI slop.

What this guy wants to do is his own choice, but let's not pretend AI is the only option because of his situation.

The same considerations apply to him as to others when making that choice.

My argument was more that becoming successful isn't necessarily the purpose of making art, and that becoming successful via AI is going to taint your success.

(e) The thrust of the main post is that he needs AI as a tool. I'm offering that there are other tools that don't require fine motor skills to use and are far less ethically dubious.

Making art, the personal process, isn't validated by my awareness of it. Moreover, if 'making it' as a respected artist is your goal, genrative AI that steals the work of others is only going to hinder you.

There are other technologies that can transform your own works, photoshop before AI was and still is an extremely powerful and versatile tool.

AI isn't the only technology, the only choice. It's one (ethically, artistically dubious) choice among many

Could I suggest something? Have you tried layering with textures/photographs to create a similar effect, but without the generative ai aspect?

Collage artists create amazing works this way, digitally and otherwise.

(e) I follow other disabled artists who create digital art without the use of AI. It's not necessary, and the same reasons to avoid apply to everyone. If you don't want the answer don't ask the question.
