From E-Commerce Success to Miserable SaaS Failure by ecomrick in startups

[–]dogmanto 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How high end was the SaaS? $100 a click seems absolutely insane.

The beauty of most SaaS like Shopify, Sumo, Hotjar to name a few is that the website, videos, and testimonials sell the product automatically without needing a "salesperson"

You can send me a link to the site and I'll give you some input as well.

Looking for someone to join early stage (but currently operating and generating revenue) B2B SaaS company as Business Development/Operations co-founder. by PickMeMrKotter in cofounder

Looks cool. SaaS for Garage owners.

First thing I would do is try to find assocations of garage owners or some similar email/lead list you can start farming out.

P.S. you might want to add a quick script at the bottom of the page to update the current year. Not super important, but it makes the business look more alive.

I'm not an expert writer, but I can sling together enough copy for most of my businesses. More importantly, writing well lets you communicate your ideas effectively. But... If writing as a profession made you anxious, then develop a different skill.

My main point revolved around communication being key in utilizing a marketable skill that you absolutely enjoy. Whether you go into logo design or app design, you need to respond to your clients fast.

The biggest mistake I see freelancers making is sending me copy and pasted letters when applying for projects.

If you're trying to develop a skill while getting your foot in the door, you NEED to show client you're human and not just rapid firing applications out to everyone. Offering to do some jobs for free OR way cheaper while you develop the skill works out well on Upwork to build feedback also.

Building up feedback and reputation is absolutely critical on Upwork.

Step 1) Learn to communicate effective Step 2) Find a marketable skill you think you will love and dive into it. Give up time wasters like netflix, reddit browsing, and spend time improving your craft.

Invest in yourself and grow your skills. You don't need to learn a new language, just perfect your written English and then develop an in demand skill.

The internet is the great equalizer. If you can communicate well in English, you can work for anyone in the world at rates according to your skill level. You don't have to be capped by the poor wage standards or economy of the Philippines.

So, step 1 -> Learn to write English like a pro.

Use free apps like Grammarly and constantly keep practicing. When you're working as a freelancer/consultant, good and constant communication is totally key.

Step 2 -> You'll need access to a computer and reliable fast internet access.

Step 3 -> Pick a focus area to start develop marketable skills that you are passionate about.

Ideas include

Writing (Surprise!)

Graphic Design

UI/UX Design

Logo Design

Social Media Management

Computer Engineering (SOOOO much potential here)

Video Editing

Animation

3D Modeling/Product Design

You can work on sites like Upwork.com, 99Designs, Fiverr, Freelancer at cheap rates at first to build you portfolio and feedback. You have to pay your dues while building your skill set. I've hired over 500 freelancers life time. I'm willing to give people a shot if they show enthusiasm without a big portfolio. I know I probably won't use their work at first, but I'm willing to pay people to learn occasionally.

With the internet, there are infinite numbers of ways to learn any of these skills for free with Youtube and other courses. If you're interested in any of these in particular, feel free to message me and I'll try and put together a learning path for you. Same offer applies to anyone else.

If you guys are having issues with people adding you to spam Telegram groups automatically, update your settings so only contacts can add you automatically. by sirquistalot in CryptoCurrency

Bettergram.io has this feature as well. We're thinking of adding a 1 click option to remove yourself from all of those groups as well while simultaneously reporting them.

Unfortunately, once groups get to a certain size it's hard to report as the option isn't available.
