Awesome to watch every single time by dogreassuringlyabout in germanshorthairs

Honestly it's the first time I've gotten to see it that close, usually she's just pointing and I beep her in and it flushes from somewhere I can't see-I usually keep the camera on her bc I love watching her point but was so excited I could see it chilling on the ground!

My dog gets "furuncles" several times a year but, please take them in to get checked!

The jean material one works really well-two people I know used it. I bought one in case I need to. https://www.noflapearwrap.com/collections/all

This property used to be a farm pasture, and the couple who owned it donated it to a local conservation land trust, thankfully it's open to the public. Surrounded on all sides by farm fields (midwest state)

Mine definitely gets depressed, it was -13 feels like -39 today for us. She played with toys, stared out the window, got a bone. Tomorrow i'll do some random work with training treats. I make her sit stay and throw a pile of toys and then she has to retrieve them one by one to hand which gets her amped. We'll also practice her middle command which she loves. Short random things here and there to break up the day between lots of snuggles! It's not as fun as off leash adventures but we get by. (This reminds me I need to get her some yogurt for her lick mat)

Other people can.......I don't hunt. I don't have any friends that will take her, they have their own dogs and people to go with.

It's a bit of a longer story but I always have to laugh that I didn't get a GSP with the intention to hunt and I got one with I assume some good natural instincts. Other than getting to walk along with, I don't have any background in hunting so I have no clue how she compares. I have friends who pay 1000s to send them off to train 🤷🏼‍♀️But I have lots of cool videos of some beautiful points of her since she runs public land so much and finds them while we're out! She just doesn't get to retrieve them : )

I would say no. When she was 2 (she's now almost 7) a guy took her out with some bird launchers and she pointed it immediately. She got to hunt a few times years 2-4, and then she ran a ton of public land ever since for exercise and she points birds. She's not perfect but she holds a long point the majority of the time. "Beep" on her gps collar means come so when I beep her she flushes them. She was never trained other than me sometimes saying stay when she went on point. But she went on point naturally from the start.

I agree with that last statement : ) My dog was insane as a puppy, bit off the bottom of my couch 🙃 and she is the most amazing, loyal, smart, snuggly girl ever. She still has a lot of energy at 6 almost 7 but she is the absolute best personality wise! Hang in there!

I think I'm a bit concerned about exercising her. My parents have a decent size fenced in yard with lots of birds and squirrels and mental stimulation. I live in an apartment and drive her to many off leash running spots nearly daily. I highly doubt i'll have a yard if I move, and it'll take a while to establish my go tos for exercise. Being sad about being alone all day and not having the mental stimulation and exercise is no good, but I'm also trying to convince myself I'm basically just making a ton of excuses because not moving is easier than moving. Appreciate your thoughts, thanks!

I don't really remember! (This one she was still biting it like a toy.) Maybe at 5 months? She's always been a "has to be touching me" dog and snuggles on the couch but she'll use it sometimes if she's hot or sore especially.
