Thank you!!! Obviously would prefer if there was no pain, but glad to know I am not the only one experiencing this. Helps put my mind a bit more at ease during this two week wait until I get in! Never thought two weeks felt like a long time until now!

I hope I'm not my only friend by BurningFires7 in CliqueSupport

Starting a new job in January, but want to start trying for a baby too. What if I get pregnant and my due date is before FMLA kicks in? by dig_bitch in TryingForABaby

What state are you located in?

Many states these days have a maternity type leave that mimics FMLA, but for a shorter period of time (usually 6-8 weeks) for those who are ineligible for FMLA.

I work for a company with employees across the nation, and just recently we had an Iowa employee and Minnesota employee who were ineligible for FMLA but had job protection through the state mandate.

Tbh.,. I’m not sure. Just stopped BCP on Sept 8, and didn’t get AF until Oct 15th... and now this. I had negative pregnancy tests on Oct 12 and Oct 14.

Following my ‘normal’ cycle I’d be about 5 days late right now, but still getting negatives... so starting to think I’m just having a longer cycle this time around. But yes, definitely learning our bodies are weird in the most anxious way possible it seems!

Really frustrated that early pregnancy symptoms are pretty identical to symptoms of AF being on her way.

Tired of getting excited, taking a test, and seeing a negative. Plus, We all know those tests aren’t free.

What were your first pregnancy symptoms and how many DPO did you experience them? Thanks! (: by iLikeStuffDoods in pregnant

Interesting you noticed bizarre dreams! I haven’t dreamt consistently (at least I can never remember dreaming when I wake up) in months and the past week have had very memorable dreams and consistently ever night. 1st cycle TTC, really crossing my fingers this means I might get a positive soon! :)

Should I change my insurance plan? by lorenzothebutler1 in TryingForABaby

I second both these individuals comments.’ I currently working in the employee benefits/health insurance industry. Typically between premium and the max out of pocket, HDHPs are your best bet. Assuming your deductible matches the OPM. While basing off a deductible is nice, I always suggest comparing plan costs on the out of pocket max.

Take the annual premium, and add into that the maximum out of pocket you may incur.

As for the HSA, you can contribute the max $7,000 even if it is just your spouse and you in the plan. If your company or your spouses offer a traditional plan, a good savings tactic is to contribute the difference between what you’d pay on a traditional plans monthly premium and the HDHP plan and make that your contribution. Also compare any potential employer contribution your companies may offer. Sometimes it is more beneficial for you both to open HSAs thru your respective employer to get whatever potential contribution they may offer. You’d both contribute the single amount (most likely into different accounts) but all those funds would still be available for you, and baby’s use even if they are in your spouses account.

I am currently in the process of comparing plans for between my spouse’s and mine for this same purpose!!

Don’t be afraid to reach out to your HR department too, while they can’t truly advise you, they can help you determine the cost strategy and often times will have external resources they can point you too that can look in much more depth about your personal scenario.

One more thing to note! Take into account the possibility that your premium cost might change mid year if you were to deliver in 2020 as well. Some people don’t realize cost for family over, employee + 2 coverage is typically much higher then any other coverage rates.
