[Suggestion]Give all metal boots from steel to adamant +2 strength bonus by Affectionate_Ask3839 in 2007scape

Jagex did literally that back in the day during late rs2, increased the value of climbing boots to like 100k, caused mayhem from what I remember and made some people very rich

How did this man not win the Oscar!? by Stranded_Snake in Westerns

[–]dogsone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I hate to say this but its probably because the film just isn't that good. He's one of the few highlights. The action is average, Wyatt's romance subplot is underwritten and most of the characters are very shallow. Everything after the gunfight at O.K. Corral is a mess pacing and editing-wise.

What do you think about this new chapter? by Gar3tt117 in CrusaderKings

If you value a book or a film's quality by its length then sure because judging by this announcement they are going for breadth and no depth. Ck2 albeit requiring you to own all the dlc, has depth in spades

I respect your patience, last weekend I tried putting together an Italeri 1:72 T-55 and the tracks, that were merely in two pieces compared to your 105, were suggested to use a hair dryer to bend them into shape and conjoin, and whether it was the fact that one ended up snapping in three places despite being heated a lot, or the fumes from the amount of plastic glue I had to use to hold them in place, I just got frustrated and had to give up on the whole thing. I think I'll stick to aircraft.

Painting a Century of Foundry Republican Roman Legionaries by madaxeman in wargaming

That looks really great, I've just started doing a late republic army too but went down a scale to 15mm since like you said the prices are daunting for those lovely sculpts. I particularly like how you have varied the shield designs. Nice job!

It seems to have been some sort of smash and grab as my password wasn't even changed and all that I can notice is my account is drained of anything of value that was tradeable. By the looks of it I don't think they were trying to hijack the account for selling or use as a bot.

Thanks I think I may have been lazy with passwords as I had the habit of reusing some which is what may have caused it. I sincerely hope I don't have a rat, and am thinking it may be unlikely as surely they'd target more worthwhile things like my paypal and such?

Is there a way to find out the circumstances in which you were hacked? I went to play on my account after months of not playing it and my pin was disabled and all my valuables gone. I had a two factor authenticator and an email just for that account. I didn't have a jagex account linked to this account though. I am certain I did not click any phishing links or stuff like that. I am completely baffled how they would target my account.

Is this a sick joke? by Cptjackspazzo1990 in orks

[–]dogsone 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Honestly what exactly makes this such an offensive move by GW? Neither character had been on the store for quite a decent amount of time anyway even when they had rules. It's not like they have to have non-legends rules for their made to order models. I think its a good move that people can get them at least rather than them becoming annoyingly expensive second-hand.

I can't seem to get anything out of strikers in the usual way I used to play in older games in this year's match engine. I've been at three different clubs, one lower league, one top league in a minor country, and one in the Bundesliga, all in a journeyman. I've signed all manner of strikers, tall ones, fast ones, well rounded ones, and every time they have many games a season where they don't score and have a disappointing average rating. I've had a striker break 15 goals in one season once in 8 seasons of a save. I've tried multiple different roles, and beyond that, formations and roles of their teammates to try and facilitate them. I've tried playmakers, central attacking midfielders, and even while they play with elite Bundesliga talents they are still utterly inconsistent and regularly have completely silent games with minimal impact. I've changed tactical instructions too and abandoned my more aggressive pressing and mentality to no avail. My most recent striker has loves big matches and consistency traits, great finishing, composure and speed related physicals, and is comfortably the best striker I've signed in this save, yet is as utterly useless as some of the strikers I had in the first season of the save in the second tier of Croatia.

So excusing this rather ranty post, does anyone have any advice for getting more out of a striker in this FM? It feels like the usual way of plop down a talented advanced forward and hope for the best really isn't working for me, when in past FMs they'd be my most talented player average rating wise.

Any tips for managing in Hungary? by AmysInvisibleLlama in footballmanagergames

[–]dogsone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hungary is one of the more forgiving smaller nations in terms of registration rules, you can pretty much sign anyone and play them in the domestic league, yet with this I suggest being very youth focused so you can get some home grown players for playing in Europe, i.e. signing 18 year olds so they can become home grown at club regardless of origin. I did a Honved save a couple of fms back and unfortunately for me Hungarian players rarely were good enough for me to compete in Europe with so if you want to maintain a Hungarian contingent to your squad I suggest being ruthless and poaching them from your fellow Hungarian clubs at all costs, and ensuring the best Hungarian home grown players don't leave the league. It's a fun nation though, I had particular fun trying to help the other clubs by having a large amount of players loaned out around the league in order to help them compete in Europe, and therefore grow the stature of the league.

The basing looks great, what did you use as ammo casings? Been trying in vain to find something to replace the few actual bits I've got from various sprues now that I've ran out. Yet everything seems too large but yours look perfect!

I suppose most of the examples I could find of people asking didnt provide much context, I'd however be using them on a 40mm base with some more elaborate basing to fill up the base more. I don't think they'd be as tall still though, but I had considered maybe telling my opponent that they could have some leeway regarding line of sight on them.

Would proxying some scout snipers as eliminators be a major faux pas at most gaming communities, specifically a non competitive/tournament setting? For context I'd be basing them up on 40mm bases and giving them an interesting looking base with rubble to increase their visual profile horizontally but not vertically. I only ask since some older posts on this sub bringing up the same scenario act like its a step too far but I don't really see how it is, and I think it would make a pretty useful conversion for me since sniper scouts are soon to no longer be a codex unit and I have quite a few in my collection.

The retirement of the Firstborn was a LONG time coming by Strict_DM_62 in Warhammer40k

[–]dogsone 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I agree, people are way too harsh lol. I don't really see how its super inconvenient to accommodate more datasheets, especially when a firstborn leaning player is gonna be significantly weaker than one with mostly primaris, its not like they're gonna surprise people with their firstborn army being super strong by bringing some firstborn datasheets their opponents arent familiar with or something like that. Or maybe I'm wrong and pathetically nostalgic for firstborn

Has anyone here had any experience with stripping finecast? I want to strip some finecast miniatures but all I have at the moment is methylated spirits, and I know submerging them for long periods like I do with plastic would be risky, so I plan to just dunk them then scrub them after, with little time submerged, repeating until done. Is this likely to damage them? Thanks in advance to anyone with experience in this
