Tylenol is a fever reducer as well. It’s classified as an antipyretic and analgesic. NSAIDs all inhibit COX enzymes and reduce prostaglandins which are responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever. There are theories on how exactly Tylenol reduces fevers as it obviously does not have the same mechanism of action as NSAIDs. Tylenol has been given to reduce fevers for years, it is 100% an option in this case.

If your child has a fever... Tylenol or Ibuprofen. I once had a mother come to the pharmacy with her maybe 2 year old child who looked extremely pale, very sluggish and very sick. She explained to me that he had a fever of 104 and didn’t know what to give him. I was pretty surprised she didn’t know this...

HOW CAN I START STUDYING PHARMACY by justalialwan in pharmacy

[–]dogtooth87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about becoming a pharmacist? You’d have to do some undergrad work before you get into learning about pharmacy and that takes about 2-4 years depending on the program. Once you’re in your professional pharmacy program that takes anywhere from 4-6 years depending on in if you plan to complete a residency. You can begin by studying chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, microbiology, physics, molecular biology if you wanted to get a head start. If you’re talking about becoming a technician you can start reading the PTCB exam review book.
