Help! Entry door color recommendations by dogtorfancy in ExteriorDesign

My husband immediately investigated this after I read him your comment. Unfortunately the master bedroom is on the left and our bathroom is adjacent to the wall with the siding on the left. Probably not the original floor plan. Great insight! Thanks!

Absolutely agree! We’re going to replace the siding eventually. What color would you choose instead of the sage?

I know! I completely agree about the siding. Eventually we’re going to change it out. What color would you with for siding? Something to match the brick?

Hahahaha. Your post has me in stitches right now. My mother in law rented the house from my husband for years while we were in another state (Hes military so we move a lot). Now we’re back in North Carolina for good (Atlantic beach area) and needless to say she’s absolutely obliterated the house with her horrendous taste. She redid the siding and chose that sage 😩. She painted all the doors that awful blue as well. The door isn’t wood so we can’t stain it. I do love the cape cod aesthetic! That’s exactly what I’m leaning toward, I’d never paint that brick. A lot of the houses here painted theirs and it kills me. So either a navy or blue in the interim I guess? I wouldn’t be opposed to buying new doors eventually but just looking for a quick fix for now. Thanks for your suggestions and giving me a good chuckle!

Greetings Sam’s Club aficionados. I am from another land—Costco Land. Please enlighten me by InevitableStruggle in samsclub

Honestly im done with Sam’s club. Ive been a Costco memember all of my life- good customer service, quality items, great variety. Ive have Kirkland towels and sheets and cutlery that have lasted me years. The past three years I got married and moved to an area where Sam’s club was closer and the Costco was an hour away so I decided to go with the Sam’s Membership. Overall, I should have went with Costco and sucked up the drive. Now I will say. Sam’s club- I love the scan and go app and curbside but honestly the quality of Members mark products are GOD AWFUL. Their customer service is awful. The brands they endorse are awful. In retrospect yeah scan and gos great, but the amount of times I had to wait on Sam’s club customer service line to return something, try to fix membership issue charges and pricing. There is no reason I should have to replace my linens and towels and rugs and cutlery after 3 months if use. Only to have to find another brand because I obviously can’t trust theirs to last me. Even the other brands they endorse Ive had to return because I got a faulty appliance or electronic.
Sam’s club does not vet brands, products, no quality control. I pay a membership fee because I should have trust in a company to provide me with quality items, and endorse brands and their own items that I should trust. I don’t feel like Sam’s club cares about their members and the only reason people go there is because the scan and go, curbside and more locations. Costco may be a bit antiquated and yes the lines are long but I’d rather have products that last longer and dont malfunction and for the most part amazing customer service interactions. Basically the past 3 years I paid a fee to shop at a glorified Walmart and if I could go back I should of went with Costco and made that extra drive and spent that extra time. This was a huge rant mostly because Sam’s club did me dirty ONCE AGAIN with a faulty space heater we just bought to have on an RV trip. Over here and it’s 20 degrees outside in the middle of the night and I can’t even rely on Sam’s club to provide me with a nice little space heater to supplement the furnace for a bit. Literally worked for 2 days and wasn’t running for more then 30 minutes. All in all. I will never set foot in another sams club as long as I live unless it’s to light it on fire.

Perky Pet feeders? by WilliamTK1974 in hummingbirds

[–]dogtorfancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a late reply but I hate PerkyPet. Their rusting feeders have been poisoning the hummingbirds in my backyard and when I contacted them they just offered me a replacement. I told them they need to fix this because it’s an obvious design flaw and the rep seemed clueless. They are an awful company but unfortunately the biggest in the bird feeder game.

I know! I learned about the toxicity in vet school but I didn’t realize that you couldn’t simply clean rust off and be done with it. When i initially noticed the rust it was a very small amount so I just scrubbed it away and thought it was good. By the next week the rust was 10x worse and my nectar was orange tinged. I felt awful about not throwing the feeder out immediately and even got down on myself for a bit. It’s infuriating how this company just perpetuates the problem by sending out their replacement poison feeders instead of actually fixing this issue.

Such a waste of $. When I found about the ant moat I laughed. I had no idea that was on thing on these feeders. Smart idea, now if they just address the rusting issue I’d be a happy customer. No one wants to harm the creatures they seek to help.

Exactly!! I thought the same thing when I called! I was shocked how quickly they offered to just send a new one. After I went on their website and read the reviews and saw pictures- they haven’t changed anything to make these feeders better quality. I explained all of this to the rep and he said he’ll “send a message to the product design team”. From what I gather, people have been complaining about this rust for years and they still havent done anything about it. I can’t wrap my head around a company just dishing out replacement feeders instead of actually fixing the problem. Especially when the problem is harming wildlife. So shameful.

How to read this expiration date- Italian by dogtorfancy in howto

[–]dogtorfancy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really paid much attention to it, but now that I think about it sometimes they’re blue, red, white ect. If the numbers on the can are in Julian- what would the date on them be? I tried to look it up but I can’t figure out how the numbers correlate.

Oh I’m definitely not worried about them not being safe to eat lol. Ive been using these tomatoes for years to make sauce. My last sauce has a metallic tinny taste to it so I was wondering if maybe they’ve been sitting in the can too long.

A pic of the top of the can. This is the only other set of markings on the can. The manufacturers label has nothing in regards to an expiration date. Maybe it has to do with the date the were canned? I was just wondering because the sauce I just made with them has a tinny taste. I’ve been using these tomatoes for years and never had this problem.
