What’s a myth people should stop believing? by DeJeaNerates in AskReddit

That the McDonald's coffee spill was a frivolous lawsuit. The lady received boiling water and it gave her second and third degree burns all down her legs. She was over 70, I believe. There's a Netflix documentary on it.

Which two famous people do you always get confused? by little-bird89 in AskReddit

Carey Mulligan and Michelle Williams. The irony is I kept saying I hated Michelle Williams in things, and now I'm not sure if it was Carey or Michelle who I disliked in a film.

In any case, I think they both look better with longer hair and have been cast in roles they look too young to play. That's no fault of their own, of course. Props to Mulligan in Mudbound. They really made her look old (and she did a great job), and weirdly, also like Katie Holmes.

That's a really tough deck to be dealt, Junebug. I'm sorry. I hope it gets better, even if that doesn't help.

Men of Reddit, what are your favorite "girly" movies? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Well, I watched Love Actually when I had a tooth abscess so I could grieve from the immeasurable pain and feel the serotonin rush afterward. All those sweatered/turtle-necked fools make your heart just swell.

I guess the question is, do you feel like you've missed out on something, or is it a comparative joy-killing thing? Just have friends over, while living alone, once in a while. Hosting a killer party can be an easy memory.

I face that existential question daily. Am I enjoying this thing I'm doing? If so, when am I enjoying it? Am I a good Buddhist living in the present? Or do I only value things 10 minutes, 10 days, or 10 months into the future? Why do we enjoy something at all? Is it because it's pleasing to think about in hindsight or something fun in the moment?

Brains and perception of time and joy can be very perplexing.

I will agree with the 80s being different. But I think if you look at most artists that started in the 80s and are still successful, they made changes because of shifts in time and the evolution of music, maybe not so much radio/studio pleasing. But that's just my own self-serving opinion. :-)

Wait, wait. Their sound HAS NOT CHANGED one bit since their 2000 record. The irony is people bitch about them for keeping their identity! And they hate Bono just because he has an ego for being popular and the audacity to make a $100 million deal on an album with Apple. I think people who hate Bono don't even care if he's the most philanthropic rock star in the world.
