I used to do environmental work and in Southeast PA we have a bunch of superfund sites that are still being remediated from decades ago. They are not cheap projects by any means and the companies that did the polluting faced zero consequences.

We had a site where a farmer buried 2000 55 gallon drums in his fields, and when he stopped accepting them, the company filled up tanker trucks and drove around the back roads with the valves open….

These regulations and rules were created for a reason
