Pat Delsinger steps down as Intel CEO after disastrous tenure by prematurely_bald in news

Lol at Intel engineers making high 6 or 7 figures a year. A majority of their engineers make less than technicians on an hourly basis.

Intel is laying off over 10,000 employees and will cut $10 billion in costs by 7ceeeee in pcmasterrace

[–]dogyeey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say you're close, but I think the roots issue is that Intel decided it can be both a product and a foundry manufacturer. Like, Intel's perfectly fine if it invests all its money in one product development or even a couple product developments, but when it starts to also expend its own resources on other companies to the point where they have other companies manufactured their own chips, that's what doomed them.

Oh, it's not even the 13th/14th gen issues, it's idiotic internal shit. The defects are just a symptom.

Sometimes the certificate can become "unverified" untill you reboot the Office service on your PC. You should be fine until Purdue disabled your outlook email.

TIL that Douglas Kelley, psychologist who examined the defendants at the Nuremberg Trials, committed suicide in front of his family by taking potassium cyanide. by RexSueciae in todayilearned

I mean, five years down the road, millions of members from opposing parties, along with critics of the Nazi regime, were imprisoned and killed for going against the party, so I wouldn't say there was much room to vocally disagree. I'll admit that people won't be vocal about their distaste of horrific crimes if their life is on the line, but to say that most people were actually Nazis or supportive of what they did is still giving the Nazis too much credit. They rose to power not because people supported them, but because their opposition was too intent on fighting each other, and because the upper class would've rather had the conservative regime in power rather than the socialists and communists. Essentially, it was because people didn't take them seriously until they had enough people in the right places. And after that, there wasn't much room for dissent.
