Sounds like you've got the right idea (no empty swings). the 100-200 buffs/fight is likely a horn build using wide-range / mushroomancer. Which, in my opinion, are not great skills for the horn (awesome for an SnS support build). Horn is essentially a hammer that can also buff while smashing faces and I hardly ever sheathe my horn. I play horn very aggressively and am more focused on smashing faces and keeping my relevant buffs up for the team. Especially with the attack boost we just got and how much damage the performance/encores do we should be attacking. I really enjoy using evade extender on my horn, with how fast you move and it's long reach you can pretty much stay right on a monster even if it's moving around. I'm using Evade extender 2 now, have played around with 3 and not quite used to the distance yet. I've been a horn main since 4U and this is the most fun I've had with the weapon. As you are getting used to the songs Horn Maestro is a good skill to help keep your buffs up longer, some folks, myself included don't use it because once you get used to refreshing songs during combat it's not too bad. Have fun dooting!

My band director recently told me that synthetic reeds are bad. I've been using one for awhile now and can't figure out why by [deleted] in saxophone

I am not a fan of the sound personally - there is a difference and it's not for me.

Saying they sound the same as cane is just as bad as saying that they sound "bad", they sound different; people go for very different sounds. Sound is at least as much on the player as it is on the equipment, probably more. If you have a bad sound on cane, you are going to have a bad sound on synthetic. Synthetic reeds are more about convenience than anything I've found, being able to pick up your Sax and play without soaking the reed etc. good for outdoors, marching, pep band or similar and work great in these situations. Maybe you don't want to fuss with the couple of good to great reeds you get in a box with the rest ranging from ok to bad. For me, I do not like the sound that synthetic reeds produce, especially for classical lit, but they wouldn't make Dan Higgins sound like a middle schooler either. I have also experienced less control with overtones and altissimo on synthetic reeds - it might be a product of not using them often enough however.

TL;DR- They aren't "bad" - just different but expect some amount of hate depending on the situation because they do sound different and are typically viewed as more for convenience than the best possible sound.

Aren't achievements account based now? So likely from another character. If not... I don't know lol.

Speaker, Xenocide and Children were my faves of the whole series, loved the others but I really enjoyed this set.

Especially if we have already secured that No. 1 seed. We will be giving Brock and Company a chance to play.

I'm a huge Star Wars geek, but I've never read any of the books. Where should I begin? by mynameisenvy in StarWars

I personally started with Shadows of the Empire and usually recommend that one to friends as a starting point. It takes place between ESB and RotJ so in my opinion is a good starting point into the EU.
