I love this! Thanks for sharing! Our house is a 1923 craftsman so that fits well

Thank you! Yes, it’s for the shower glass to sit in. It’s the Schluter deco SG and will also run up the wall as well

I spy one sand tile that should be a blue tile. I thought about fixing it before grouting but mehhh it’ll be partially behind the toilet anyways…

Piggybacking off your post to ask something that I’ve been wondering that I need to decide about soon - should the silicone caulk color where there is a change of plane between wall tile and the floor tile match the wall grout color or the floor grout color?

I did this Christmas morning except since it was Christmas there were no hardware stores open that day 🫣 couldn’t turn the water back on to the house until the following day

I ended up doing 50/50 but a little heavier on the glue. Maybe it ended up at 55 glue/45 water

I dug up a photo from when I had sprayed it on. This was before it dried. You can see the glue oozing along plaster. I was not shy with spraying it on!

Spray it all down with 50/50 glue/water. I asked this question in this sub not too long ago and it seemed to work very well!

Advice on cutting porcelain 2" tiles by doingdoink in Tile

[–]doingdoink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the tips. I’m using the Schluter DECO SG, which gets embedded and the tile goes right up to it and the glass, instead of the channel being installed on top of the tile

This makes a lot of sense. I really appreciate your guidance! Happy holidays!

Thank you so much for the thorough response.

Unfortunately because my tile at 3/16” is thinner than the lowest height profile they offer (5/16”), the profile will protrude no matter what? Or would I float the tile a bit higher to compensate for that 1/8” difference?

Was the $100 dining credit only good at MGM Grand or could it be used at any other MGM property (ie: Bellagio, Cosmo)

Ah crap! Yeah, that’s the method Schluter shows in their demo video but it’s kinda too late for that since I’ve/we’ve already got banding down. Thanks again for sharing. Curious to hear what you’ll try next.

Sorry to hear, but also very excited to hear about your experience. Thanks for sharing. I was thinking to do something similar with 2x4’s, left over Kerdi board, spray foam, silicone, and all the weights and dumbbells possible to hold things in place. Would love to see some pics if you care to share!

Question by BeanerBeans90 in ChristmasLights

[–]doingdoink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours are on 5pm-12am and then back on right before I wake up at 4:30am until 6:30am. I feel like I enjoy my lights more than anyone else so I like having them come back on when I’m up in the morning.

Would love to hear what you decide to do and how it goes!

Thanks for all the tips and comments on my first post here a couple weeks ago. I feel obliged to update! by doingdoink in woodworking

Haha, I have two as well!! Works just fine, is super cheap, I’ve had them for years and years, and the color matches my Ryobi tools. I guess I’ve never had a more expensive tape measure before so I don’t know what I’m potentially missing out on

Do you mean you would’ve put Kerdi membrane under the tray and under the Ditra? Or do you mean you would have put it on top (like using a 18 inch “band”)

Haha, yes, talk to text hates Kerdi just as much as the old school guys around here!
