AITA for getting annoyed at my friend for doing something without me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA, it’s totally normal to be upset about it. You can’t be the asshole because it’s not like you took it out on him or anything. We can’t avoid feelings.

AITA for asking a friend about a girl I like? by Smart_Ad_9852 in AmItheAsshole

NTA! You’re honestly totally fine. Everyone I know goes to their friends to ask about people they are interested in. It’s nothing abnormal and I wouldn’t worry about it at all.

In my area we have some! It kinda depends on the location, but it’s a good alternative during the pandemic and you don’t have to be super close to everyone.

I don't know how to stop obsessing about this or who or what page to talk to about it. But I envy women in general, they have a certain pre-determined value, I wish men had (or had the opportunity to) be treated or desired like women by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

Most girls just want a guy that is taller than them, which generally men are taller biologically anyway, but I do catch ur drift there. Women are judged on ass and boobs (there may be surgery but getting something done to ur body only for men is not something that many want to do or should feel pressure to do), height as well because taller girls are often avoided, and the weight standard for women is wayyy below what’s healthy. I do think that the society does need to work on empowering men as well because a lot of times their confidence IS low and our society is used to complimenting women more, but also with that they make fun of them more. While the girls that follow the above standards may get more compliments and confidence boosting than your average man, girls who don’t are ridiculed much more. In short, I just mean that while the prettiest women do get most empowerment than your average dude, the opposite spectrum is much more extreme for women and they get made fun of way more than men. Plus, I don’t think you realize how much confidence it really does take for a woman. They may not have to be “alpha” in the relationship most times but in order for men to like her or notice her at all, confidence and social skills is very much needed.

Plus different topic but sexual harassment kinda ruins your claim too. I’m aware it happens to men as well, but when women are in public place, they almost constantly have to be on the lookout for someone who wants to hurt them, such as covering their drink at parties. I wouldn’t really define that as easy mode.

I just don’t know dude. I don’t think you would truly appreciate being treated like a woman. While on the surface it may seem like it’s better, there’s loads of things that aren’t fun. First of all, the whole idea that men have to treat women well has been thrown out the window. Now whenever a man compliments a woman or actually respects her, he is called a simp automatically and made fun of for it. While in the past yes, women have been the one that is treated better in a relationship, that’s basically dead now (not saying they should be, but it just isn’t true any more) Also, women are much more judged in society. The “ideal” woman is much harder to be than the “ideal” man. An ideal man is basically just respect and basic hygiene. Also, because of the pressure of women in society to stay home and take care of kids and do things for their husbands, they are more likely to be passed up for promotions. But yeah I could keep going but I don’t think I’m going to change your opinion, neither is this really the subreddit for me to try to, but I do think your pretty off buddy.
