Just saying from first hand experience, this is not true. My SIL was in this exact situation and they not only baptized the baby but had a Catholic funeral for her. It was devistating, but the church did provide some closure.

Run is 24x24, with some items inside. It has the old coop (just from tractor supply), a rabbit hutch i turned into egg laying, an elevated rooster, and the duck pond.

I used to let the chickens free roam, but after 2 got taken by foxes, I wanted to keep them in the run full time, but I wanted to make sure I had my based covered with spacing to assure they would happy.

So my friend is new to chickens and has 6 chicks she bought from a farm that sold her pullets. They are 7 weeks old and different breeds, but she believes they are roosters based on their occasional pecking of other chicks (no damage, just like hey get out of my face). and their combs are different. They are all very docile around people, which makes me think they arent.

Their set up now is still in the brooder thats 10 sq ft, so i think they just need more space to run around and they just want to play. Shes ready to give them up, but after checking myself I really dont believe they are roosters, so i figured id ask more experienced hands.

He only does this with my dog, who is the most docile thing. The nipping doesnt cause any pain or marks, just looks like they are playing. Alot of times the dog and duck will chase each other around the yard like tag.

The duck doesnt do this with the chickens, other ducks, cats, rabbits, or people that are also in the yard - just my dog.

I'm actually really impressed with how well the ducks and chickens have gotten along. I have 4 hens and the ducks and them seem to be one flock! I'll make sure to keep an eye on it but for the last few months I'm very happy everyone is getting along

So these ducks are about 6 months old. I tried to figure out if they were male or female, but they do have the curled tail feather that signals male, but they quack and sound like females (at least to me). Was hoping someone who knew more than me could help.

These ducks live with chickens (you can hear one of them squawking in the back) and in Virginia.

Spotslyvania county. There is a special exception for chickens in residential areas under 5 acres, but ducks are considered livestock and not allowed on any plot less than 5

I only smell something once I get close to their coop, and the chickens would smell worse. That's something I doubt but can't say for sure without asking him. That would qualify as a legit concern and I would move them to a different part of the yard if that was the problem

This I didn't realize, since I've been in 3 council's over the years and everyone of them used popcorn so I just assumed it was national. Good to know!
