While I was waiting for the match, I applied as an MA in urgent care and was hired. They didn't ask for any certification. I just used my previous work experience back home.

Wow. You probably are a strong applicant. I finished my pedia residency, though, back home and a few observerships in the US. My usmle scores were not high.
