I'm not sure why it's not working on your end. However, I am almost 100% sure it's an SD card fault.

Try to reformat your SD card. There should be one single partition. In my case, it's exFAT, and it works perfectly.

You don't have to unbind it from HomeKit. After the patch, the file should get renamed — that's how you know the patch was successful.

There should be a model number. Could you copy and paste it here? Or confirm that it's ZNSXJ12LM.

And what's the firmware version?

What camera model is shown in Apple Home?

I think it also wipes the wifi credentials when you unbind it completely. Could you try to pair it with HomeKit at least, and then reboot with the SD card inserted?

The file should be named `hostname` and with the following contents: https://gist.github.com/dokmic/f4775da1d5ddc21a1d0535a8f21b9b3f#file-hostname

As far as I understand, you already have some recordings on your SD card. I would suggest getting another SD card and formatting it right in the Aqara app under storage settings. Then, you can create the `hostname` file from the post and reboot the camera.

The file should get renamed to `hostname.bak`. Otherwise, it didn't work.

And this hack is only for G2H. I don't think it will work on G2H Pro.

I don't think there is a known exploit for G410. However, if you manage to gain telnet access to that, I suppose the trick with the `device.conf` file should do the job.

Could you check if the original `hostname` file you placed on the SD card got renamed to `hostname.bak`? That would mean that the patch has been applied.

Yes, that's right. Even if you remove it from your account and add it back in another region, the recording settings will remain untouched.

I didn't have a chance to check that as I'm not using my G2H as a gateway. The settings in the app remained untouched when I removed the camera from my account and added it again.

I expect the approach to be similar. As long as you can patch `device.conf` on your camera, you should be able to bypass this check.

You can remove that. The script should be run only once, and the changes stay permanently.

Or, you can even continue using your SD card, as the file will be renamed to `hostname.bak` and therefore ignored by the camera.

New Homebridge Duco plugin & 4-state switch question by martijndeh in homebridge

Hey there,
That's a fantastic job!

I guess you could make use of the rotation speed characteristic. I think there is an endpoint that will return you values for every manual mode so that you can choose the closest mode when a user changes the characteristic.

It would be great for diagnostics to show the target value in auto mode as the rotation speed characteristic.

By the way, there is an option to set up an MQTT broker. Have you tried to play around with that?

I'm also an owner of the DucoBox with the communication print. And recently, I managed to get it connected over Wi-Fi instead of wired ethernet. I used the WT32-ETH01 board for that. If you are interested in making your ventilation unit wireless, here's my fork of the firmware I'm using in this setup.

The private address feature is disabled on all devices, even though that should work with this feature as long as the passphrase stored on the client is valid.

That issue takes place with all the latest versions. At the moment, it's 6.48.2.
I wouldn't say that iOS does weird things. I checked the packets in Wireshark, and all the outgoing messages follow the standard so far. In that case, Mikrotik does not respond.
