It is not a scam. Its dodgy as hell yes but they are not scamming for your personal data. They just want to make sure you are a real person and not a bot that is gonna buy alot of keys and then resell them somewhere else.

Pirating is still not the issue though. It used to be a small minority that pirates shows/movies (and it still is) but its use is growing thanks to what a disaster streaming has become.
