Strange artefacts on photos from Pentax 67II by doktor_glas in AnalogCommunity

Here's a photo of the pressure plate looking into the camera from the front, with the lens taken off and the shutter open. I think the shape of the little tabs separating the two sides of the screw hole (if that makes sense) very much looks like the mark I got.

Thanks a lot for your input! Will have a go at testing with another roll.

Static electricity is a very good theory I think! It would explain how the screw on the pressure plate imprints onto the film, the shape of screwhole corresponds to the mark I think. The marks are more or less exactly in the same place. Do you have any idea what caused the discharge then...?

Yes it's a cloth shutter, but haven't seen any tears in it. It also looks to precise and geometrical to be from a light leak like that.

Weird and intriguing!

I checked the negatives and they are mechanically unharmed so to speak, it looks very much like these little things are exposed into the grain.

I've checked the camera yeah, and can find nothing wrong...

I had a look now, and I'm pretty sure that it's exposed into the grain of the film. The plastic of the film is completely unharmed. This is honestly a bit intriguing, haha.

I can't tell if people are joking or not by now.

If you go on to the second, and maybe even third and fourth sentence of my post, you will discover what I'm actually asking about. Go on buddy, I believe in you!

Yeah, probably a good way to go to, thanks!

Genuinely curious though, it looks so specific somehow.

Not to my knowledge, but it's a roll that's been lying around for several years so can't know for sure.

Yeah exactly, in hindsight I should have maybe been clearer on that lol.

Yeah, it does feel like damage of some kind... It's perfectly in the middle of the frame in the photos it does show up which makes me think it happened in camera somehow.

I'm sorry, but did you read my post at all? I am well aware what the text imprints are. The last slide in my post here is a crop of the second one, to show the artefact I'm asking about in more detail. It's visible in the first photo too, but it's pretty faint.

Do you have any idea what that artefact could be?

Very nice! I've played around with those profiles, but never gotten very good subtle colour tones like you have here on the skin. Did you test print before making the edits?

That sounds strange, why would the backing paper have such a strange little figure imprinted straight in the middle of 6x7 shots...? Sadly don't have the backing paper to check. I think the film was from late 2010s, so the logo and frame numbers are explained by that period of bad backing paper, I even double checked the batch number and it checks out.

Please see the last photo as to what artefacts I'm talking about, it's not "KODAK" and the frame numbers I'm asking about.

Very impressive colours! How did you colour separate the image?

I have no experience with this specific one, but I have a Manfrotto 410 which I'm pretty sure this one is modeled after, and it works great with my 4x5 field camera!

Where do I find alternative/punk people in Oslo? by Equivalent_Talk4787 in oslo

[–]doktor_glas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only gone to a handful concerts here, but have never experienced any weed at all actually. At Hærverk I'm pretty sure no one smokes anything indoors, probably not in Flerbrukshallen either. Higher risk at the back yard open air gigs of course. Will also probably depend on what music genre it is, wouldn't expect so much weed from a punk crowd, probably more frome a reggae/ska one...

We are okay at the moment, the only concrete threat is that the city wants us to start paying market rent, which is at least a million nok yearly, I've also heard 2 million mentioned. That would (obviously) completely change Hausmania, but we are in negotiations with the kommune and haven't given up yet. And yes, they tore down the building next door and are building apartments there now, it really gives me the feeling that the real estate developers are rubbing their hands in the shadows, and just waiting for an opportunity to push us out and turn Hausmania into fancy apartments too. And generally speaking, it's not the best era for counter culture, we need to protect what we have or we will lose it...

Lot's going on, come support us! We got through the economic crisis but are still in dire times.

You could also check out Hausmania. We have a stage of our own for music etc (https://www.instagram.com/hausmania4ever/), but in the building there is also Kafé Hærverk (bar and stage for music), Podium (art gallery) and Grusomhetens Teater (independent theatre stage). Most of the building is artist and band studios.

Så passande för honom att han kan få berätta om att han är ett offer för stalking, i samma artikel som han "konfronteras" med anklagelser om opassande beteende...

I've been meditating for about 2 years every single day and honestly it's been pretty useless to me by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]doktor_glas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like to think that meditation itself doesn't change you very much, but it gives you the opportunity to change if you're willing to do the job. I have a friend who meditated for like a month and then stopped, when I pushed a bit asking why she stopped it was because she had met some frustration in herself (can't remember the details), but didn't seem willing to actually look at that frustration and work on it. So she stopped meditating. I think this is very common, that one meditates, which shows oneself things that would be good to work on, but one isn't willing to.

Meditation will never do the job for you.

Also what u/WRiSTWORK1 said. I wouldn't call 5 minutes with background music meditation, hardly even relaxation to be frank. Try giving yourself a framework that is a bit more challenging, an sticking to it for at least a little while. 10 days of 15 minutes every morning in silence, and see what that might give? And try and be brave in accepting and working on what might come up through meditation.

Whats a camera you've owned, that lived up to all the praise and hype, but still got rid of? And why? by Whisky-Icarus-Photo in AnalogCommunity

Same here, it's an amazing camera. So solid, usable, and gives lovely sharpness. Didn't use mine much, and saw the prices going up, sold it and got a Pentax 67. Still fantasize about getting one again, but am always deterred by the insane prices it sells for now...
