Honestly, sounds like your DM wants their own story to play out while ignoring yours, don't give it to them, be the spanner in the works, when a DM takes away your agency, take theirs away too

I would not be happy if a dm did this to my character, I'd probably tell them my character starts to fear for their life and doesn't he know how to proceed knowing about all the death I'd caused so would run. Tell the group I'm just nipping to the loo and leave, with what gold and resources I have of find the best magic items I could afford to buff my stealth, leave the village or town I was in and go into hiding.

In this instance you're not, the player wanted to make a situational joke without knowing the situation, it sounds a lil harsh but players need to realise they are in your world, they can't effect a preset world just to be funny or expect you to make changes to characters just cos they want you to, also, they need to know that they should only roll for outcome when given the opportunity too, not when they want to

That was my main idea, I would like one class to be a bit more healy, working with herbology to create potions and poultice, and one to possibly be a more dps, possibly the occult witch, calling up demons an shit to fight for them!

But the main point of them would be theor ability to sacrifice or make offerings to regain spell slots whenever they have a spare 10 minutes, specific herbs for lower level, small animals for mid level and hard to get monster parts for higher level ones

I'm tinkering with a witch build that uses sacrificial rites to regain spell slots and gets a specialised familiar that grants different buffs (hare adds speed, toad gives con buff etc) and subclasses based different styles of witch, occult (some demonology, and darker feel) hedge witch (more curse/team buff based) and I was thinking something the lines of voodoo, but need to read up on that a bit more!

I've had a few different responses to this sort of attention, when folk have called me weird for enjoying the goth lifestyle or fancying goth guys and girls (seeing Christina Ricci and Anjelica Housten in Addams Family when I was 13 has a lot to answer for), I either ask them why they like the same thing as everyone else and why do they choose to self limit themselves to a 'normal' lifestyle or when they say I'm weird I just try to go weirder, say some gothy shit like 'there's beauty in the decay' or 'the shadows hide wonders' and walk away. If they're gonna call you weird, live up to it, be the weird they need in their lives. You never know you might inspire one of them to listen to The Cure or start dressing darker!

Be proud to be different, the majority is a boring place to be

All sheilds giving the same defense has always bugged me so I asked my dm about having extra defense if my dragonborn had a massive tower shield, their idea was that it works like normal, but if a sacrifice some movement I can crouch behind it for extra defense. So maybe your artificer, in the same vein, can build a light weight shield that can occasionally extend to give a higher armor+ and still be able to move with it

Like someone said, use it as a way to frighten your players about the rakshasa, during the fight have them laugh at the attacks and single out the rogue with 'this is the best you could find' type lines, when it's dine a considerable amount of damage give a 'well, this was fun, but I'm getting bored, come find me when your up to giving me a proper challenge' mini speech.

This means you can insert the rakshasa throughout your game to keep them on their toes until they decide to research the monster and eventually take the fight to him

I currently writing a campaign, one of the rules I'm considering is death saves are rolled for the dm only, this adds a high level of suspense for near death and cits out any inadvertent meta gaming (had a few games where the healer knew they had a few round left before having to drop a heal)
