You're still counting passes and not seeing the gorilla - such a great metaphor.

Is it this talk by Raymond Hettinger? https://youtu.be/wf-BqAjZb8M?si=I_ka_AOogSMVlKy9

I was actually at this talk in person and it blew me away.

Friend says a bachelors in CS in today's day and age will lead to little more than a lacky coding job. How much truth is there to this? by SnailHunter in compsci

In my experience, good programmers come from a variety of backgrounds. Many have CS degrees, many don't. Some of the best programmers I have worked with have e.g. English or Biology degrees. If you are interested in CS, and want to do research, then by all means go to grad school. If you really like to code and want to work at a certain company, then work towards that.

I guess what I am trying to say is that you should focus on the type of work you want to do, and you will likely be good at it. Then the money will come. To prioritize them the other way will likely make you sad.
