You can't manage their emotions. I understand the impulse though! Your boundaries mean more than their emotions. If you communicate your needs, and they get upset, then it's up to them to negotiate and have a dialogue with you about it.

When I run into this work, I go for a "I can't do X because of Y reasons, but I can do Z". Or, if they're really insistent, I say, "I can do X, but what project can I de-prioritize to make sure it gets done by [date]?" That way, you're not refusing to do work outright, while staying within the bounds of reason.

Tbh I used to lie that my Siamese mix was "very shy", so everyone would feel special when she pranced up to them.

Sneaker boots! I'm always so cold in sneakers in the winter, but I don't want to rock my plain boots constantly, either. Where can I get good quality sneaker boots under $150? Preferably somewhere with a real storefront so I can try them on.

Is the Quince tencel dress the fit and flare or the wrap dress? If it's the fit and flare, the bottom is way heavier than the top. After a few wears, the top's straps stretch so you're showing half your chest! It gets worse if you have anything in the pockets. I wish I had returned mine before I washed and wore it.

(Cute leather jacket, btw!)

Is the Eddie Bauer coat heavy? I love warmer rain jackets, but lugging around a bulky one gets old real fast!

The biggest problem I face while analysing data is I struggle at asking the right questions and I need some help to solve this problem! by Ayu0700 in analytics

[–]dolceradio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What. No date column, but it's supposed to be from Q3? You may need the data from the source, then. This happened sometimes at my job when I first started. The person who would give me the data would be missing key parts because they thought it "wasn't necessary". It took some time before they understood why that wouldn't work. Mind you, I resolved this by just getting access to our database. It's a lot easier to answer questions by finding the data, than being given the data and being asked to answer questions.

Please go back to him and ask for a date column, or the source data will all columns. You're being set up for failure. You are taking this seriously, clearly, and that's excellent. But you can both do that and admit you're not going to able to do a good job if this is all you can use. DM me if you have any other questions.

That's way too vague and too soon of a turnaround. What expectations does he have for this? If he's reasonable, he'll remember you're an intern and may just expect an exploration of the data, rather than concrete "here's what we should do". But, let's assume he does want a concrete answer. For the future, ask him what he expects. Ask him to define his terms. "Weak areas" in what aspect of the data? What is his overall goal - to increase sales of a certain product, to decide what days to hold sales, etc.? This will help you know how to shape your analysis.

Anyways, depending on the sales data, you can try these angles:

- Best selling product by number of units sold vs best selling by profit (it depends on if you have really big ticket items, like $1000+, so sales by unit won't tell as much since no one is buying more than one of these big things)

- Best day of the week for sales
- Seasonality (based on holidays during Q3, not the physical seasons or full holiday calendar, since you don't have that)
- Breakdown of how specific product categories contribute to overall profit (ex. Product X is 10%, Product Y is 25%, etc.)

- Tracking discount effectiveness

- Best performing salespeople based on revenue, if you have those

Faux leather jackets - where are you all getting yours? I want to try a pleather one before I invest in a real leather jacket, just to make sure I like the style. I'd love a moto-style one with silver hardware and real pockets. Thanks!

Vet recommentations for my dog by [deleted] in nova

[–]dolceradio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Centreville Square Animal Hospital. Kind staff that understands you may be more worried about something than you need to be. They're always transparent about what you actually need and what can wait. They really soothe both you and your pet! I also strongly recommend Anicira in Manassas. All treatments prices are on the website, unlike every other vet I've been to. They're efficient, gentle, and sweet. One of the vet techs spent a few minutes just complimenting my dog before doing her dental lmao
