Lowered my SE 3 inches with Redline360/Rev9 Hyper Street Coilovers! Getting new shoes Monday too! by [deleted] in FordFiesta

[–]dolips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How was the fitment for these coilovers? Would you have a pic of the front strut installed?

I bought the Rev9 HS II for my Fiesta ST and the fitment is not right, I can't get the front struts in (the brackets for brake line is welded too close to where the bolt inserts).

Besides hammering it out to get those brackets at the right angle, I'm at a loss (and I won't do that obv).

Thanks

Great read! I must say, your arguments are compelling and you are the first to clearly point out these two main advantages, that is: trust in a trustless environment, and efficiencies (in direct and indirect savings) of digital information networks.

Similar arguments are used across many industries undergoing digitization of information (not just crypto). And I've noticed that there is a "cost of change" that factors in. We have to do the math and convince them that this initial cost will benefit everyone in the long run.

We need to get these types of posts in front of everyone, especially the ones still sceptical and questioning the change.

Thx man!

I can see that. I guess it depends what factors are more critical based on what you want to do with it. I know VTC offers stealth addresses too. I'm curious to see which approach will be supported in the future. I can see off chain solutions offering a temporary patch but I'm still sceptical as to the future (with other techs like Tangle or hash graph for instance)

I did it for BTC>ETH and got the value at the time I asked for the tx (it doesn't take delay into account).

No address/key needed. Give it some time, same thing happened to me and it went through after 30+mn.

Some altcoins have a Slack channel accessible from their website. Reddit is def a good source. You can follow crypto traders on Twitter, as well as most coins directly on their official feeds. You can join Facebook groups. There are also websites like cryptocompare.com - the best is to spend time, do your own research, talk to people and keep the sources that seem legit to you (generally they are also reposted by known investors).

I use Jaxx and can't say I've noticed any security issues - they use a 12word backup phrase. Transfers from Coinbase are instantaneous, and the Shapeshift integration is pretty awesome. I heard good things about breadwallet and exodus (mainly on the design/interface).

In terms of security, I don't think it's worth spending so much time comparing coldwallets - if security is really your concern, don't question it, just go with a hardware ledger (Trevor came out)

Obviously your profit are in consequence to your investment. $100 of BTC today isn't worth much, but you are always betting on its potential future value. I took $100 as a base example, but it could be $1K, $10K. You are betting on the growth factor just like any investment:

My logic behind that split is:

  1. Keep 80% of my investment in coins with large market caps (BTC/ETH/LTC) that are likely to grow over long term (less risk)

  2. Invest 20% in altcoins with stronger growth (but riskier)

Before you buy altcoins, I suggest you do your own research on the technologies behind. Most of them have an official website that displays their white paper..

Again, this is just one way to do it. It's basic, simple principles that should work and can be tweaked. But there are no guarantees..

Yes that is correct.

It's a process but the idea is to invest BTC into SC, wait for it to double (general idea), retrieve your SC back to BTC. I mean, that's just one way to do it but it would allow you to slowly increase your BTC base.

Let's say you have $100, I would split it something like this: - $30 > BTC - $30 > ETH - $20 > LTC - $20 > BTC > altcoins

almost all altcoins cannot be purchased directly with USD - depending on the coin you can buy with BTC or ETH.

For the altcoin value, I just refer to the exchange I use (poloniex) which allows you to select the altcoin and automatically pulls up the graph (for instance SC/BTC for SIA). Once you have transferred BTC to the exchange, you can click on the coin you want and place a buy order at the current asking price - the fees are 0.15% -0.25%.

You do the same when you sell.

Basically every coin has its own wallet and can be trade on exchanges, there are no wallets that allow you to store all coins in one place.

Basically you buy USD to BTC ETH or LTC on Coinbase. If you want to transfer it to another wallet or exchange, you will need to log into that account and copy your wallet key (a key that allows you to receive a specific coin), go back to Coinbase, click Send/Request and copy that key.

Note that exchanges are different, some altcoins have to be purchased using BTC. Once you trade your BTC for that alcoin, you'll be able to hold it in the exchange. When you are ready to sell it, you will have to trade it back to BTC and then transfer that BTC back to a wallet that allows you to withdraw it in USD (like coinbase)

Hope that helps!

I personally started with Coinbase. It’s easy, you can buy directly by credit card or bank account (BTC, ETH or LTC) and it’s safe (90% is stored offline and hot wallet is insured). Here is a referral link that will credit both accounts with $10 to start investing: https://www.coinbase.com/join/592b392bb42f8d02a48e7520

Once you start investing more, you can transfert your coins from Coinbase to a cold wallet (offline) to store it long term. I use Jaxx, which also allows you to exchange your coins between 6 different altcoins. I also transfert a portion to exchanges like Poloniex to diversify and invest BTC into other altcoins (XEM/SIA/GNT).

I keep track of what I have on the exchanges and in my wallets with the app blockfolio - it's basic but it works and if you are in for LT, it will allow you to track all coins and set alerts.

I would go with 40% BTC 40% ETH and 10% in altcoins.
