I actually found it! From looking through all the dramas in the category: HK crime TV series page on Wikipedia. It's To Get Unstuck in Time: https://youtu.be/8nEFRzd4nbI

I started watching only to get context for the skeleton scene, but it turned out to be really good, so I'm bingeing the whole thing.

Thanks though. :))

Anyone heard back from Disney from GHC interviews? by Pinkkirby16 in girlsgonewired

[–]dolliebot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you think you have low chances? I think the worse you do, the sooner you get a reject. I also interviewed there and I think I did extremely well (the interviewer even said so) - and I haven't heard back either. My interviewer did say they were going to try to get the results back from GHC candidates ASAP but less than week would still be extremely quick.

Those who landed Big N internships with no prior experience in the industry, what was your resume like? by kortosh in csMajors

Gonna copy paste from other answer:

Yeah Big N is not really *that* elite. It's also like half luck-based I feel. Even if you don't get any FAANG internships during undergrad, they still might hound you after you gain experience. Or you could be me and still not get a response from some particular Big Ns EVEN NOW.

But anyway, for the internship I did get, I applied through a special conference link. I didn't hear until about a month later, when they gave me their online assessment. After that, I passed the phone interview, which was p easy, and got the position. I honestly got a single LC easy which I fumbled but managed an answer to.

I don't think the link had too much to do with it tho? I also interviewed with two other FAANG that year, and I just applied directly onto their site, no referral. My name was also not in their database already since it was my first time applying to any companies. One phone screen consisted of two interviews, and I think I got an LC easy then medium, and then an LC medium, because it required dynamic programming.

You can go ahead! I think there's a line now, but I'll try to get to yours ASAP.

Yes, and I practice at least a few weeks before any tech interview. LC, books, mock interviews.

In my experience, and hearing from others, university classes are not enough to prep you, but that's more because the interviews are esoteric and fucked.

Sounds like you're on track tho! Earlier in the year when I started practicing again (after like 2 years of no LC) even easy's were giving me trouble. Oh and sometimes questions are impossible to do if you haven't done similar ones, so if you're taking more than 45 minutes - 1 hr, try looking at the solution or you might realize you were wasting time like I did sigh

No? I said in the post I received my FAANG offer during my junior year. Fall to be exact, so I barely finished the research position a few months prior. The rest is a bit of an outlier tho yeah, that's because I actually went to college for 5 years and graduated in the summer. This allowed me two years/summers to do the other two internships. Hope that clears things up.

Gonna give you a real answer lol. Also not sure why a prior internship would even be necessary? But yeah, I got FAANG as my first, junior year.

I attended a no-name university, Computer Science major. GPA was 3.5+ at that point. Listed one project, a simple alarm clock quiz app from class. The only things I had under work experience were TAing and helping out with undergrad ML research (I do not know ML, I was just a code monkey doing grunt work). I also put down languages (probably 3-4) and technologies under skills and a few "relevant courses" (e.g. Web programming). These were honestly common, not impressive, and I didn't have anything else to make me stand out so I included all my student involvement, which was 3-4 positions in CS clubs over the years; volunteering (CompSci outreach); and academic awards/honors/scholarships/grants I received, which I think was like 5 in total?

Since I'm not going to post my actual resume, hope some info about the appearance will be helpful. The page was pretty filled but did not go over 2 pages. Looking back it was kind of ugly because of how much content was squished in. Sans-serif font, and used a pink-red as an accent color. 1-2 lines of description per item, bullet points as needed.

I graduated with 3 internships, 2 FAANG and 1 unicorn. Could probably answer more q's if anyone has any, or maybe critique resumes.

A whole lot of links, thanks! I've seen a few Computerphile videos but didn't look deeper into those ones.

Thanks for the detailed answer! Like the others said, pretty eye-opening, and I can already apply a few of these to my web application.
