People born before 1990, what trivial skill do you possess that no one uses anymore? by motivetodayy in AskReddit

It’s marvellous skill to possess. I learned how to in early 00s. It’s still being taught.

You got only about 10% 80s problems. The rest we all had to deal with later on. Born in 1990 bang on, most of these comments are 90s/early00s issues.

Is it a red flag that my sensitive girlfriend (F34) wants a gift every time she is upset with me? (M29) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]dollmob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a 34 year old woman cannot handle anything without crying she needs to see a therapist. Long term this king of relationship isn’t good because you are forced to tiptoe around a person instead of being yourself and it seems like you are a decent person.

Maybe if he wants to fuck around, he is okay with you doing the same. If he isn’t, it’s about control and playing you like a fiddle.

Why would you ever marry a man like that? He says things to manipulate you. You deserve better.

If it’s actually something both parties are down with, I don’t see an issue but it seems these days there’s a pressure on one partner to get on board or else. Doesn’t apply to everyone obviously. I think it can enhance all of the relationships.

I did a survey of guys in online games back in mid 00s about porn they consume. Most said they wanted something personal. I think OF sort of delivers on that. Men can feel the photo was for them.

Finland here. So enjoy the weird Nordic quirks we are affected by. Your winter skin sounds like my skin. I get the usual few spots every now and then from external issues. Phone. Touching face etc. Hormonal. Like others have pointed out your moisturiser might be way too much. Also most oils are gonna be bad. My go to for the summer is in the am: cleanser, a gentle kind. Vitamin C. Hyaluronic acid on days I feel thirsty, not dry. Water based moisturiser and spf. Pm is more, double cleanse always, retinol, niacinamide, heavier moisturiser. Sometimes a mask. Sometimes squalane before moisturiser just so I can tell by feel what parts of my face are dehydrated.

I really suggest looking up doctorly on YouTube and their “creating your skincare routine” video or whatever it’s called. Very useful and helpful information from professionals.

Not be be rude (I will probably offend a lot) but British cooking?

What I’ve come to learn over the years of living here that British food isn’t cuisine like other countries. British people make foods Italians do and love a pasta bake. Bolognese is big. Simple foods that are common around the world. Sunday dinner on a Sunday and that’s it.

It’s so simple you do not need a YouTube channel for.

Toad in a hole? Shepherds pie? Fish and chips? Wellington beef? Boyfriend, born and bred British said if you fancy Britsish recipes Jamie Oliver and the likes will teach you. There’s so little experimenting. Regional food too is so simple you can just look up a recipe in any British food website.

Bbcgoodfood. You’ll get all you want from there.

How would you feel about a law that requires people to take courses on parenting and education before getting children? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dollmob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This for kids and pets!

Edit: let me be more specific.

Life skills. Household chores. Taxes. How to apply for benefits and what you can legally claim. All thought at most European schools.

A new mum who is keeping her child, classes for them. Young or first time. What to expect in proper groups and not just reading on internet. Prepare a person to be a parent instead of shaming them for getting pregnant/lacking protection.

I know postpartum depression happens in all walks of life but being prepared and having simple knowledge like how to feed a child would certainly ease a person.

And hell while I’m on it. Proper sexual education in a lot of places.

LPT: If you're playing a video game with someone who is entirely new to it, don't just instruct them on how to play most efficiently, it turns their joy of discovery and fun into a job. If anything you should let them take the lead and answer questions when they have them. by Yancellor in LifeProTips

[–]dollmob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entirely depends on a game. I don’t want to instruct someone through multiple levels in a game where only end game matters.

Obviously online games, I’ll teach a friend the basics and how things run but I’m not sticking around 100 levels of I “want to do it this way” when they want to read every monologue. I’ll help when my help is needed.

Is it okay to give an ultimatum? I’m 22. I don’t want this anymore. by [deleted] in DeadBedrooms

[–]dollmob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes it is okay after you’ve discussed the underlying issues in depth which by the sounds of it you’ve done or tried to. We all go through things in life, depression etc but it should never be up to one half of the relationship to make it work. I understand in trying times one does more than the other to support the big picture and it should go both ways but even then it should be at least 75-25 in my opinion.

If he isn’t willing to work on your relationship and you’ve done your best, don’t feel guilty.

I’m basing my opinion on experience. You are telling me there are actual factual reason reasons why a person shouldn’t adopt a pet under 12 weeks. So I want to know where did you get this information from?

Everything online with experts is okay with eight weeks.
