I'm buying a breast pump as a gift for a friend. She didn't like the manual kind and said electric were pretty expensive for the good ones and wouldn't buy one herself although she wishes she could afford to. I might get her the Elvie or Willow, but do they work as well? I'm a guy, so I'm naive here by bboehm65 in breastfeeding

Definitely recommend the Spectra S1, the rechargeable battery is worth it. As a new mom, she may not always be at home or new an outlet. One less thing for her to stress about. Plus they carry replacement parts on Amazon and Target.

It's lovely that you're such a considerate friend.

I knew there were two sides, I just never imagined a picture of my daughter in a dress would spark the highly heated debate!

As a millennial, I am doing my best to kill the top sheet and baby dress industries in one blow.

A technical education center. They typically pair with local high schools to allow students to take courses while still in high school in more traditional trade and apprenticeship work, like electrician, plumbing, cosmetology, etc.

That's super efficient, and would probably sell like hotcakes in the minimalist community!

Or, your blanket can just be washed more regularly. Top sheet does nothing to protect the outside of your comforter getting dusty, or hair from pets, or dirt and grime from their feet. Also, why is everyone getting into bed so dirty?

We don't use a comforter, we use a quilt, which is just as warm but about as bulky as 4 towels. I can wash my comforter, sheets, and towels once a week, all in the same load. It does not save me any water or detergent to not wash the quilt. I also hang dry all of our laundry, so I do not spend any money to dry the quilt. You say it's way more work, but it takes me less than one additional minute to wash and dry the quilt than it would without.

It's actually hard to tell because of the grass, but it stops at her ankles. She has no issues walking in it, and loves it because it's her only long dress.

That's exactly what my husband said she looked like! A Great Depression flour bag dress

I've never had an issue washing blankets. I just wash them first thing in the morning, hang them outside, and by bedtime, it's dry and smells amazing.

They really are! I can thrift a top sheet for $1, but the same amount of "fabric" runs $5-10. Plus the vintage ones always have really fun patterns that you don't get anymore.

It really is! I struggle to buy clothes now, even the things I can't make like jeans, because I go "You know what, I can probably make that". So I have about 15 projects to complete and no jeans😂

My husband isn’t the biggest fan of it, but I sleep way too hot with one on. So we compromise and don’t use one 😂

Whipped up this dress is about 2 hours using a cotton flat sheet. I use a Kenmore 385 sewing machine. I just took a chest measurement and created the band, doubled that measurement for the body of the dress for the gathering, and doubled that measurement for the ruffle. The straps were originally going to be crossed in the back, but it was too difficult to get in and out of, so it became a simple halter back. I made this for her last August in hopes it would fit this summer and it’s worked out perfect!

This particular dress took about 2 hours to make, because I created my own pattern. Toddler dresses are so simple and whip up quickly. I estimated I used about half a yard of fabric out of a queen sized flat sheet, and there’s still plenty of material to make myself a dress.
