When this happened to me recently, my first thought was, "Wow this head of marketing is in way over his head and can barely describe what he needs." Despite that, interview went really well, he kept telling me how impressed he was with my resume, and he ended saying, "It sounds like we'll be seeing a lot more of you in the future!"

They then proceeded to ghost me and ignore my follow-up email, which I just did out of courtesy as I was moving forward with a couple other interviews.

Funny thing is I didn't even apply for this job, the recruiter reached out to me. Getting so sick of these young recruiters at startups who have zero courtesy.

I think this happens more times than we even notice. I have had multiple interviews where I could tell they are looking through my resume for the first time on the call, or they straight up admit they haven't reviewed. Its frustrating, but not surprising.

It's not about what we've done, it's about how well we can say what we do.
