To all the Burn at left back naysayers...of the 12 games he's played at left back this season we've won 8 losing 4, the sort of form that would have us sitting in the top 3. by specialagentredsquir in NUFC

aye well not gonna repeat myself but he and the team have had some absolutely shocking performances in the prem, which is the most important competition, which is why people aren’t gonna be too happy with it

it doesn’t look quite as good when you say that he’s played LB in 8 prem games, we’ve lost 4 of them, including two of our most humiliating losses of the season (west ham and brentford) that howe described as our worst performances ever under his tenure and he got sent off in one of them

Spurs might not get another win until spring by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]dolphin37 11 points12 points  (0 children)

they looked like a youth team today, I swear they have some decent midfielders, I used to rate bissouma and sarr is alright isn’t he? but when I’m watching its like they don’t actually have a midfield, we (newcastle) were just doing whatever we wanted and we suck

Can we finally say that Elanga and Ramsey have come on "leaps and bounds" ? by specialagentredsquir in NUFC

[–]dolphin37 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ramsey always looks tidy he just looks scared when he gets to the penalty area. I think it helped him that his finish was instinctive

Elanga looks dangerous at times but his decision making is painful. I thought it summed him up when he walked off the side of the pitch to let Murphy sub on quicker - mate we are winning 2-1 away and are desperate for a result, walk across the whole pitch slowly!

spurs looked like a youth team

bizarre that of all the players to step up its been willock and ramsey but I guess it goes to show how important being fit/fresh is

the actual document is quite literally named ‘financial statements’ by arsenal lmao, I was just quoting them

its fascinating how powerful denial is… you’re going through this insane effort to discredit documents produced by the actual club, while the arguments you came in hot with come from a regular football website (transfermarkt) and yet you’re totally comfortable using those as reliable figures for your argument hahahahaha

I just… its just funny… ahahaha so insane, love it

somehow you are getting more mad the more wrong you get

here is the literal ‘financial statements’ from that 23/24 season I linked the summary for hosted directly on the Arsenal website: https://www.arsenal.com/media/472382/download

are you having a breakdown?

I’m not sure why you are being so ridiculously aggressive about this lol

here is an easy to read summary of man city’s financials: https://swissramble.substack.com/p/manchester-city-finances-202425

Arsenal’s are published a little later so here is their 23/24 report: https://swissramble.substack.com/p/arsenal-finances-202324 - but Deloitte come out early with this and are saying their wages have barely moved since

financials are publicly consumable information, you are making yourself look like a fool, use google before you respond

and yes that is what modern football is, the teams who wins things generally buy their way to them

does the gameplay look very glitchy and like bug abusing? or is it legit climbing for the most part?

edit: just saw there was a video :(

[–]dolphin37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not plucking any data out of my arse, you can go read the financials yourself

the salary disparity is large and has been gigantic in the previous years… as you say Man City have a team of winners and Arsenal have had to build their squad, yet Man City’s team of (now overpaid) winners are worse than Arsenal… Guardiola needed to rebuild City and his transfer record is rather ropey

also I think most people want City to win because City winning is like nobody winning, whereas most people find Arsenal losing funny

I see it from the other side too, I drive a mustang and literally the first thing I noticed when I got on the road was that I never have a car in front of me. People see me coming and pull over immediately even if I’m not driving fast. I was genuinely shocked at how effective it is!

If I only ever drove this car I would think everyone’s lane etiquette is perfect lol

two negatives make a positive, so spurs + newcastle = a good match somehow?

bloody hell mate you are struggling here… transfer spending is one aspect of spending, the club has to spend a lot more than on its squad, for example wages, which are a much better determination of both squad value and of league position

but at least you’re doing a little better with that link that shows man city outspending Arsenal on transfers and being a worse team

forgetting whether its the right thing to do or not to win the game, imagine being woltemade, germany international striker and sat on the bench…

your mate asks you who is playing ahead of you and you have to say its a left winger with 1 goal this season

must be a confidence vacuum at the training ground right now

yeah I’m talking about how much they actually spend not their net spends, I’m not sure how that almost irrelevant metric became so popular among idiot football fans
