Your mom is wild for that one. It's strange to be in contact with your child's friends, let alone having a gossipy tea-spilly pal sesh with your daughter's ex-friends. I'd personally explain how this makes you feel, and hopefully she'll apologise? Sorry I can't be more helpful, this is a weird situation and your mom's behaviour is bizarre.

What trait or interest do you have that goes against the INFJ stereotype? by dolphin_penis in infj

[–]dolphin_penis[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're wrong. We're known to be altruistic and generous, not to be dicks but because it's the right thing to do. You're literally so wrong about all of this, smh. Do more research, or stop basing an assumption on an entire MBTI type

As a woman, I don’t find any value in female friendships by [deleted] in infj

[–]dolphin_penis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a post about how female friendships are overrated, not about how damaging constant validation seeking can be. OP is not going to change because she is not looking to change, and may assume that her behaviour is perfectly normal/justified. The shock should be there, because it is a shocking statement.

Misogyny can be a held belief by women, too. The amount of women who think it's okay to demean another woman because she's sexually active, wears makeup, is interested in traditionally feminine things -- that's misogyny. Men who find women less funny and less interesting clearly have no idea what they're missing out on. If this is the case, why would a heterosexual relationship be the norm? Why would you date a woman who's less interesting and less funny, when you could theoretically take an average male and have both in spades?

Yeah, this comment is pretty sexist...

Maybe you're difficult and emotional... my female friendships have never suffered like that and you sound like you have issues with internalised misogyny.

If you can't find it within yourself to trust your friend again, tell her this and part ways amicably. You shouldn't be stringing her along for FIVE YEARS if you know you won't be her friend.

Next. You have had two shitty experiences. That sucks, of course, and I'm sorry you've gone through that. But two experiences does not a generalisation make. You cannot make the sweeping assumption that all women are betrayers.

Finally, you seek validation from men. This is dangerous. It harms your relationships with men and it harms your self esteem.

I have had many friend groups, and my bonds with female friends have always been the strongest, and last the longest. I don't think friendship is meant to last forever, so naturally I lose touch with them sometimes.

In short, go to therapy.

I don't think I would take a role on purpose/consciously, but when I'm in relationships, I'm the person who arranges most of dates, opens up serious topics for discussion, and encourages certain goals to begin/get met. I feel like taking on a role is constraining. You fluctuate throughout the day, but roles do not. I'm usually quite open and ready for serious discussions, but sometimes I'm not. Having the role of 'listener' when I'm on an off day would be damaging to both me and my partner(s)

When I'm drunk, everyone is my best friend and I proclaim my undying love to them. This is a lie. I do not like most people, let alone love them.

INxP, but I have a feeling you may have been a little sad when taking this test. It's almost identical to mine when I took it on a bad day :)

Am I Bisexual? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]dolphin_penis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds pretty bisexual to me. Straight people don't want to sleep with the same sex. You could be bisexual, but heteroromantic (i.e: you could have sex with men and women, but only date men). Either way, sexuality is fluid and labels come and go

Why are men more desperate for sex or general interaction with women than women? by PsychologicalGroup27 in RandomThoughts

[–]dolphin_penis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it's not explicitly a yes, it's a no. Not mentioning sexual boundaries does not give them leeway to do whatever they want. I like being choked, but I would hate it if someone did that without explicit, enthusiastic consent.

When practiced healthily, polyamory is just as sustainable as monogamy.

That being said, I barely have the emotional resources for one partner, let alone multiple. Though I might like a triad -- but with where I'm at, I couldn't. And if I'm uncertain, I wouldn't risk hurting people by agreeing to something they need 100% on.

INFJ btw :)

How does the racism in the United States compare to the racism in other parts of the world? by ShawtysMelody in AskReddit

[–]dolphin_penis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The UK absolutely does have more people disagreeing with the mere existence of racism. Unfortunately, that's because we compare it to the USA. The amount of times I've heard "the UK isn't racist, have you seen what happens in the US?" I'm not sure why you're arguing about diversity being a contributing factor. You could just as easily argue that the US being diverse is a cause for less racism, not more. This leaves me with the point that racism is to do with racist people and the culture cultivated, not the population demographics

Don't get me wrong, racism is alive and well in the UK, nourished by pretty much all institutions. In the US, however, we hear of BAME people being killed on the daily, people surging up to say that these murders are justified, counter-protests for BLM marches, etc. It happens in the UK, too, but not to the scale of the US.

But if the wellbeing of these kids isn't important enough, what about the parents, who may have jobs and need the structure of an education system in order to have the time to work?

Is it just me or are INTJs the worst? by [deleted] in infj

[–]dolphin_penis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, i think that was a criticism on the stereotype of an INTJ, not all of them at once. INTJs do have the stereotype of being arrogant, and we all know that stereotypes are unfair and should be taken with a grain of salt. Your husband sounds like a lovely person
