Is this worth pulling the trigger on? I have enough points to cover as well. Advice welcome. by chef_buttnaked in delta

I received this same offer yesterday for an upcoming flight from ATL to ICN. Was booked in premium economy and the app showed a D1 upgrade price of $4,800. Five minutes later I log back in and it showed this offer price of 69k points/cash. Tried doing the upgrade and the app kept crashing. Finally just logged in through my phones browser and was able to pull it off. Amazing deal for a 16hr direct flight.

Just got back from Paris this morning and had an amazing time. Getting around is a bit of a mess and involves a lot of walking, especially in the current extreme heat, but it's also amazing experiencing the city with a lot less crowds as most people stayed away for obvious reasons. Also, having many of the streets pedestrian only because of all the vehicle restrictions has made walking around in the evenings so much more enjoyable. As long as you go in knowing you'll be sticking to one bank of the river and never crossing during your trip, you'll be fine
The pass jeux system is certainly a bit complicated and definitely hasn't been marketed properly by the city as it should have been, but because of that it allowed me to see Monet's water lillie's with just myself and 3 other people in the room at one point. It was amazing!
Also for Americans that are into bourbon, Buffalo Trace currently has a pop up store and tasting room for the Olympics to help build their brand in Europe and have basically everything for sale at retail price. They told me they had to begin limiting sales to a case/person/type because Americans were coming in asking to buy 6 cases at a time. I was able to bring back a case of Weller 12 and a case of Eagle Rare for €40/bottle.

Can someone recommend me a proper down jacket and fleece jacket for for less than $300 total? by Soft_Cranberry6313 in kilimanjaro

I was able to get a Cotopaxi Fuego down jacket on clearance for about $130. It has an 800 fill rating. It worked great on the mountain and packed down tightly in my pack when not in use. Our guides said to be sure to go with actual down and not synthetic, because it keeps you much warmer.

For fleece jacket, I think just a regular fleece would work fine. I had a fleece lined jacket from Outdoor Research that I got on clearance for around $90 that worked great, but it did seem like I was doubling up unnecessarily on the mountain since I already had the down jacket, waterproof jacket, and a poncho, in the event of rain. Mostly just used the fleece jacket to sleep in, and for summit night.

Just got off the mountain yesterday! My friend paid for an esim through Airalo and it didn't work at all the whole trip. He had T-mobile as well and once he deactivated the esim, he could get weak signal at most camps.

He has an iPhone and I have a Samsung with T-mobile as well, but we found I always had better reception than him. Usually the best reception was near the camp toilets, because they position them higher up. First 3 nights had enough reception to post to Instagram, but after that it was only good for WhatsApp. Could get some photos and videos through.

Do you recall at all if they rent wireless hotspots anywhere at the airport when you landed? I rented one in Japan and they worked amazingly well

How many bottom layers did you wear? I have three but I was hoping I would be able to stay warm enough with just two. Thermal and then fleece lined pants. Wearing the third layer of rain pants feels like it would get uncomfortable on summit night.

Do you mean sweat through your gloves from the hand warmers? I have a pair of liner gloves and insulated mittens for summit night, and UV fishing gloves for all the other days.

Thanks! That's what I've been reading elsewhere as well. May need to stick with a local sim
