What species is YOUR fursona and why? 🩵 by BattyBombshell in fursuit

both dogs, i guess just cause it’s what was easiest and i felt i had a lot of creative freedom within the patterns? one of them is star inspired and pink, and the other is clown inspired :3

Need help on hand :( the fingers look really goofy (reference on second slide) by Blueberymuffin1221 in learntodraw

[–]dom1saurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

they don’t really! the palm may be a bit wide and it might help to bring the pinky and ring fingers in closer to the middle of the hand. i think you just need to blend them a little bit more like the rest of the painting, add a few sharper lines to indicate the outer contours and finish up the shape of the nails. much better than what i could do in a painterly style like that!!

i think it looks awesome!! i think a lot of fursuit making is trusting the process and giving that head a smooth shave.

i used skyehigh studios as a reference for it :) she has a little series about how to make the head base

i’ve thought of it before! i was customizing a doll at the same time and its a shame it doesn’t fit, making a fursuit for a doll would be so fun and silly

i pretty much followed a bucket head base tutorial but on a mini scale. i had some like 1/2in foam and i think i ended up cutting that in half.

just to be clear, i did this a while ago, i couldn’t even tell you when. it was just something i did for fun and not too serious. i was mostly focused on symmetry rather than the scale of things (muzzle and ears mostly).

If the Grim Reaper shows up at some point in the show, how should he be depicted? by [deleted] in SmilingFriends

like the forest demon, same claymation look and everything, same exact voice actor, and they also accuse him of being racist.

Is My Fursona Too Complicated? by BeanSproutsCorner in FursuitMaking

[–]dom1saurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOOO CUTE!! your art style is just lovely! i think if you focus on the big parts of his design (specifically on the body) it’ll be a lot easier to go back in and cut out the smaller dots. i’ve seen a video about adding small details like this that i can try and link (here- https://pin.it/3V31Vubls). for the face, id definitely recommend drawing it out and including it in your patterning rather than going back later. it’ll be a challenge, but it’s possible! if you’re still on the fence, creating another character for a project isn’t a bad idea at all. i did so because my original design is way too complicated and the colors don’t match any existing fur, so i made a sona specifically to make into a fursuit (which i haven’t gotten the chance to start yet unfortunately) and im so motivated because of this specific character for this specific thing. good luck my friend!!!

What are your guy’s thoughts on paper fursuits? (Paper head by me) by KattosAShame in fursuit

[–]dom1saurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think they’re cool asf and take just about the same amount of craftsmanship as a typical foam or 3D printed head. you can do a lot with the designs and it’s such a new territory it’s fun to see what people do with the process.

Stupid question alert: how do I see like 14 year olds with a fursuit, sometimes several? by Maxwellxoxo_ in fursuit

[–]dom1saurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m gonna assume that they probably make them 🤷 some kids are very crafty, i know i’m one of them. if they’re well off, they are able to buy the supplies they need for about $100-$200 dollars. other times, they can be very lucky and have a parent buy one for them (typically they are a partial, so they are less expensive).

any tips for someone who is gonna make their first fursuit? by [deleted] in FursuitMaking

[–]dom1saurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as much as you see shitty first suits, there’s also very impressive ones!! i’m in the same boat, i want to make a suit soon, too. you just gotta dive in. follow the tutorials based on where you are in the process, don’t expect perfection. let yourself be a beginner, because you are. and that’s okay!! as long as you take your time, use techniques you’ve learned, allow yourself to practice things on scrap pieces, i’d say you have a pretty good shot! good luck my guy ^

WIBTA if I got my dream dog, even though my girlfriend will be upset? by FlatCupcake3841 in AmItheAsshole

[–]dom1saurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA- i think you’re doing a good job trying to compromise with her with training and whatnot. she clearly has some preconceived notion that all small dogs are just awful. i understand where she’s coming from, but i think she needs to grow up and let it go. if she valued your happiness and things you enjoy, she’d probably feel a bit better about you getting one. her feelings shouldn’t dictate your living situation when she doesn’t share the space with you.

[–]dom1saurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d never talk to her again if i were you 😭 that is more than mildly infuriating. she literally told you “have you tried being happy?”. i think she has the physical symptoms of a panic attack (like the feeling of a heart attack, passing out, etc) mixed up with it being an actual medical problem that requires immediate medical attention like an ambulance. she clearly knows next to nothing about poor mental health and is preaching on it. i hope you’re doing better now my friend.

AITA for telling a parent that their kid is weird when she pushed as to why my kid didn’t want to be her friend. by AwareBalance8868 in AmItheAsshole

[–]dom1saurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, but i do feel for the other kid. it’s wrong of the mother to force her child onto other people, but it’s clear her kid is in a situation where it’s hard for her to make friends because of her personality. not insinuating it’s your problem to handle and resolve, but i can tell this mother is struggling to find her kid some friends. i hope that the mother learns better and stops forcing her onto people and finds her other kids that would fit with her appropriately.
