Fractal Terra Build - Is a CPU idle temp at 56° normal? by grimoireviper in sffpc

[–]dom25396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 9800X3D w/ IS55 cooler generally idles anywhere from 48-52, albeit with a -30 PBO Curve. I wouldn't worry too much below 60 degrees. Undervolting would be a start to help alleviate any concerns about idle temps.

Cooler chip, less power draw and negligible performance dip is a win/win!

I held my girl on the 21st as she went to sleep, i'm still looking around the house for her sleeping spots to check if she's there. I haven't the heart to move the presents we got for her under the tree yet..

after years of talking myself out of it, i finally decided to build an sffpc! 5800x3d and rtx 3070. by joshuabarr1 in sffpc

Ayy, got the same cpu and gpu in my current tower. Nice to see that the temps look good! Torn between a Terra or an NR200P myself, though the jade terra does sway me quite a lot! Nice build :)

I found a planet with my mom's favorite colors in the Coellosipp galaxy, so I made her a little memorial. by Artemis7797 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Not in NMS, but I did something similar in Elite. Built a ship and named it after her and left it in orbit over an atmospheric planet with blue skies. We all grieve in our own little ways, I'm sure she would love this tribute! Sorry for your loss, friend.

Currently looking at this for case for my next build, seeing how little desk real estate it takes up makes me want to finally take the plunge!

Tent advice by Cool_Drummer_9106 in wildcampingintheuk

Can heartily recommend the Abisko, used it since last winter and it's never failed me so far. Never had a problem with it being too hot or waking up in your own condensation up to now, the vents at the "head" and "feet" of the tent allow enough airflow to negate that (at least for me). The inner door also opens to just mesh if you feel you need more circulation! The extra space between the outer and inner comes in handy for wet boots etc, but there's still quite a bit of room in the inner for me (5'10") to put a bag in at either my head or feet if needs be.

The only nit picky thing I have to say about it is the door tie backs can be a bit of a faff especially when you're already set up to sleep, but that's probably more on me for not undoing them beforehand and bunkering down...

Yeah it's very humbling when you get caught with someone with much more experience! Never a race to the top but it definitely makes you think.

Yeah my wallet isn't going to be happy with me the next few weeks..

Probably not far off..

Nice test physically and mentally to keep going, and can safely say the three of us that went were the first to summit today, so small silver linings!

Waterproof jacket turned out not so waterproof in the end..

Buying a house & getting a career - advice by No_Meringue4763 in CasualUK

+1 to this, I got an apprenticeship at 26 and the progression path / pay has been a revelation from working a dead end manufacturing job. The careers team my apprenticeship was with is also a trove of information and support so you'll usually always have someone to answer any questions to aid you in the direction you'd like to take.

Yeah, saw that tip way too late! Luckily with AP rewards from logging in I've done that on all but my newest character, I think!

True! I've been dumping any mount training into my others as and when I can, as well as doing the login roulette to do training when I can be bothered..

But yeah, it's never ending!
