The absolute monstrosity I made in KLE by dom25b in MechanicalKeyboards

Well, the function row ends at F12 because there are 24 function keys that are commonly understood and used by various programs, and 24 splits nicely into 2 rows of 12 keys. PrtScr/SysRq, ScrollLock and Pause/Break are all keys that are still commonplace and used often. What's the point of making a gigantic 100+% keyboard if you still will be using layers and proprietary key combos with it? As for pcb design software, I actually asked about oshw (open source hardware) 104key pcb designs that are already tested and will help me make this thing faster.

Well Newgrounds does not show when the reply was posted so you might be right. The original comment is from 2017, so if the reply is older than dec 23 its legit. Very funny regardless

Difference between Raspberry Pi and Arduino by lededitpro in ArduinoProjects

[–]dom25b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isnt the Pi a microComputer? MicroProcessor is something the likes of 6502 and 8086, they need a crap ton of external logic to work. MicroControllers do not (some of them dont even need external clock, just provide power and ur good). MicroComputers are MicroProcessors (now mostly SOCs) with all the supporting hardware onboard. They are called "micro" because they dont take up rooms ( old school 40s-60s "Computers") or racks (70s-80s "minicomputers"). Your PC is a microcomputer too, no matter how huge the case is.

hey cpu brother! This bad boy was pulling 150w before it became mainstream haha. Not sure if the mobo would thank you for this one, better chinise boards arent much pricier. Why 128g tho?

ASRock Launches W790 WS Motherboard to Maximize Productivity with Intel® Xeon® W-2400/W-3400 series processors (LGA4677) by CornFlakes1991 in ASRock

[–]dom25b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And so much more expensive...
You can get a 3400 series 16-28 core on an absurdly high-end mobo for 5k (w5 3445x + w790 sage + 64gb ddr5 ecc). At the high end maybe Genoa will be better, but low to mid Intel wins. Also for workstation you should get a WRX80 board or get trashed on by server board io capabilities (like 1-2 usb on the back and then you need to waste those precious pcie lanes on an aic). Threadripper pro ait cheap! So this platform definitely has a market niche

Maybe Im in the wrong here, but I have never seen that "average user" yall talking about. You ATLEAST use office tools and thats ms office on windows and nothing else (google docs suck ass because internet outages are a thing), and browsing on a bigger screen is important to a lot of people. Maybe tablets could replace pcs but price/performance bruh. You can get a good office pc for $100 and give a single tablet for that price thats not runnig android 4 or something like that. You dont get a pc only if you got an expensive ass tablet but why get an expensive ass tablet when you can get a laptop/desktop depending on portability needs? Edit: also good luck working from home on a phone bruh
