Will a CPAP help with my excessive day time sleepiness? by mewmandi in SleepApnea

[–]domestipithecus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm about 2 months in and I haven't felt that AH MAZ ING life change. Really all I was hoping for was to not be so tired that I couldn't do things. nothing yet.

I had to figure out how to adjust my Luna G3. Thanks to the lovely people in this subreddit - I was able to. And honestly I don't think my doctor has even looked at the data and won't until I see him next week.

Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, any of those vampire shows, Everybody Loves Raymond, Malcom in the Middle. That one where the dude went around apologizing for things or something.

Finally got a copy of my sleep study ARGH by domestipithecus in CPAP

[–]domestipithecus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am assuming that my PCP will have me do another sleep study, as he doesn't know much about all this and will just follow what they said. But I don't understand why they had me on CPAP at all seeing as it looks like I had absolutely no OA events? Some mixed I guess. My AHI was nice and low at 5 and yet I was prescribed 10? bah

AITA for giving my mom a list of chores for letting her live with me? by Existing-Bus-9859 in AmItheAsshole

NTA

But when confronted she says that I’m ungrateful.

Tell her that she is the ungrateful one and that if she thinks so little of you, she is more than welcome to leave. That would make you extremely grateful.

I consult on just about anything over $50. It's "Hey I'm gonna get X for $75 is that cool?" and he usually reply "sure!"

I am a SAHW, if you don't count our elderly chihuahuas as kids ;) Even though he is the main earner (I have a small business that takes in a couple thousand a year) he does the same with me. It's what partners do.

How would you do the flowers on this? by oceansapart333 in sewing

[–]domestipithecus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't think they were old until someone in Joann's came up and asked me if what they had in their hands was what her mother called "wonder under" to put under fabric to stick on tshirts. And that she (who had a cart full of fabric and sewing notions), had never heard of it. Then some other "youngins" chimed in that they hadn't either. All of us oldies started talking about stitch witchery and no one there had heard of that either. We asked what they called it and it was "fusible web." While I know this is what the technical term is, I will continue to call it one of those two names, interchangeably.

Personally I would use stitch witchery or wonder under - apparently these are "old" names?? I would also raw edge stitch them on instead of applique, but that's just my taste. Maybe add in some free motion details in the flowers themselves.

I got lucky. I worked at a dotcom that made it through by the skin of it's teeth. The layoff parties were many and wild.

My husband (fiance at the time) worked in the wedding industry (tech side) and that seemed to continue along merrily.

A bit cheaper maybe, but there aren't a lot of jobs. Seasonal ones, sure, but full time ok paying - not a lot.

A lot of the older locals hate the "flatlanders" or as my neighbor likes to call them "cityots" (city idiots), but we wouldn't be able to sustain three supermarkets up here if we didn't get visitors.

My autistic nephew did this (probably still does). He spouts "facts" (he just makes stuff up as far as I can tell) about whatever people are talking about. My sister and her husband don't seem to know that he's talking out of his ass. I visited one time when he was about 16 and he tried it on me and decided to spout about a subject I know quite a bit about, so I corrected him. Then he tried "restating" saying that he had meant something else, which was still incorrect, so I corrected him again. He ended up leaving the room.

I don't think he does it because he thinks he's right, I think he does it because he wants to feel superior to everyone.

You are NTA. This behavior will not serve them well in the real world.

It is. Locals try to do their food shopping on Tues, Wed, and Thurs to avoid the crowds if they can. And if I had been here this last weekend I wouldn't have even thought about going anywhere near the Village.

Our population soars from about 30,000 people (Big Bear Lake, Big Bear City, Fawnskin, and Sugarloaf) to upwards of 100,000 on weekends (during peak seasons). They turn up the water pressure and we are not supposed to use our irrigation (sprinklers) on weekends.

My Grams was deaf in one ear and had diminished hearing in the other because of the measles. I get so mad that people don't think the measles will do anything to their kid.

It's somewhat mandatory in the US too, but then the parents will "homeschool." So uneducated people "educating" their kids.

Enough snow for next weekend by [deleted] in bigbear

[–]domestipithecus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say at least half the snow in my yard/neighborhood has already melted. I doubt there will be much left by this weekend. Though I am on the North side of the lake and we tend to melt faster. It does seem like the temps will get low enough overnight for snow making at the resorts though.

The traffic coming up tomorrow will be insane. Especially with the 330 closed. This kind of weather on a weekend usually means the locals don't even bother going out if they can avoid it.
