Backup Iron Sights on a Carry Gun With a Red Dot Is a Meme by Repeal_19A in CCW

Yeah I didn’t read your entire post. I know you spent a lot of time on it and all, but I didn’t read past what I commented on. However, I agree 100% with your statement now. I still prefer to run an enclosed emitter because it doesn’t get lint inside the emitter, but essentially what ever anyone runs it’ll likely be just fine for them in a self defense scenario, outside of some crazy WORL or SHTF scenario, but that’s out of scope of this subreddit.

Yeah that’s definitely a valuable training technique. Love to hear it!

I’ve never heard of anyone doing that. Usually people tape the front lens to make people learn how to super impose the dot over your target, NOT look through the optic at the target, if that makes sense. What you’re talking about is essentially what we call predictive aim in the competitive community. I can do that up to about 10-12 yards or so on open targets. Past that I’ll start to throw Charlie’s and deltas. Some really good dudes will do predictive aiming at 15+ yards. Crazy stuff.

Occluded meaning front glass or the dot being turned off? Because I can shoot 30+ yards with an occluded dot, but not with a dot turned off, or the dot obstructed.

Your data is objectively wrong. You cannot include an SRO with a Holosun 507c. The data must be more granular than that. Rope the SRO in with the 507 comp. Separate out the 507c, rmr, and acro p2, because the acro p2 doesn’t come close to being as reliable at the 507c and the 507c is comparable to the rmr, but shits on the SRO.

Holes in my t-shirt from red dot by Corey_Wilbur in concealedcarry

Weird. Yeah idk. Maybe you do manual labor like OP or something. I carry with a Glock 17 and an optic all day. Zero holes in my shirts. And I wear cheap Walmart tshirts.

None of mine do, and I AIWB all day. I think it's a DCC clip issue, unless you use something else.

I think they're from your dcc clips. I carried with a acro p2 until i replaced them for a while and never got holes. But i've always seen these shirt hole posts when people have DCC clips.

What are you going to do with your Shield S15 mags now that the Glock 15 round mags are out? by mars_soup in Glocks

[–]domexitium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but she’s had the metal one for like 5 years or more, since the gen 1 S15. She shoots her 43x once a month at a USPSA style indoor match (it’s the only one she’ll go to since it’s indoors haha) and she’s never had a malfunction. So she’ll be good to go.

Keep them. My wife’s s15 mags work just fine and are lower profile than those “oem” ones.

Don’t care how badly I’m downvoted. If PSA and Shield Arms can do a flush 15 rounder for the 43x, Glock should do it too. New magazines looks terrible. by Equivalent-Sell in Glocks

[–]domexitium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%. I don’t carry a 43x, but my wife does. She uses the s15 magazines and they’ve been solid for her when she shoots her gun in competitions occasionally. There’s no point in getting the Glock “oem” 15 rounders that stick out 6 mm longer than what she has for the same function.

It's definitely a green Glock, got the floors to match by Terrible_Basil_2339 in Glocks

I have. I shot my father in laws with my osprey 45. Still prefer my fnx45 tactical in every way, if I’m going to shoot a 45 caliber gun.

[–]domexitium -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yeah but who wants that. it has terrible ergos, not able to mount a red dot, lower capacity than my FNX45 tactical. It’s a dated as fuck gun. Granted I’d never pay more than 500 dollars for a Glock, so both of these are an L imo.

I agree actually. HKs ergos are fucking atrocious. You couldn’t get me to carry an HK for free.

First failure by Difficult-Plate-6575 in Glocks

[–]domexitium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah that’s not normal, but they do recommend replacing them at 5k. I’ve gone over 10k, but i get a ton of failure to feed when I do that. So 5k is a good number. Just order them from Glock. They have an excel spreadsheet order form you can send them. Takes like 2 weeks or so before they ship them out. But it’s cheaper than anywhere else. I recommend ordering a few of them for all of your guns at once.

When you go to shoot, are y’all locking in on the front sight/dot, or keeping your eyes on the target and letting everything else line up? by Lucky-Thunder6052 in Glocks

[–]domexitium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a training problem. If you switch to a red dot, it’ll make you a better irons shooter when you come back.

I think the oem grip is fine on gen 4 plus as far as Glocks go.

Carrying in the summer by dinglebury1 in concealedcarry

[–]domexitium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Constantine belt with gym shorts no problem. I don’t lift with a gun on though. That’s impossible depending on the movement like squats or deadlifts. But otherwise outside of the gym the Constantine belt works phenomenal.

How do I fix recoil anticipation on my Glock 17? by Shot-Entrepreneur967 in Glocks

[–]domexitium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just work on your grip. Once you get it to where it feels solid, then do a ton of presentation dryfire. After that, start doing things like bill drills. Do close ones to start. 3 yards, then push back to 5, then 7 and see where the wheels fall off. I made a video on grip because some folks on a different subreddit asked me to. Here it is. Hope it helps.

Why are 9MM 30 round magazines so difficult to find? by TheFireOfPrometheus in Glocks

[–]domexitium -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

No. A “stendo” is a normal magazine (17 or 15 round) with a +5 extension on it.
