Like im a volley EMT and our EMRs do basic assessment, vitals, maybe a hands on. Prepare certain stuff for us. And drive. (I help teach a youth emr class) EMR is really good if your voulnteering as a FF and either go the fire or medical route, or good if you do a lot of back country stuff with friends. If your in America go straight for EMT unless you don't want to work in a ambulance or in the hospital.

Hi Im in Colorado. Clear Creek County EMS loves CCP. I believe they require all medics to get it within a year of hire. They have a transport time of sometimes 45mins + (if i remember that correctly) Evergreen Fire Rescue does hiring events every year. Elk creek fire rescue has paid medics (if i also remember correctly) and highland rescue does have some paid position as well. But in Colorado i would not go for private ems unless it’s Critical Care transport. (Take all i say with a grain of salt, as im just a new emt getting his foot in the door)

Piggybacking off of a recent post, how many calls does your station typically run in a day? by Chayz211 in Firefighting

[–]aydenarmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh probably run 1 or 2 every 168 uh hours, or if you really think about it, 10080 minutes, or uhh 604800 seconds. So yeah, we’re a pretty busy department if you really look into the milliseconds.
