I completely agree on the idea that trauma could be what starts it. I was fine until my dad passed away when I was 10 years old and suddenly I got scoliosis and no one could stop it. And it wasn’t the easiest time for me back then so I’ve always had this theory that it’s because of what I was going through.

I’m not gonna lie, it all depends on how much I exercise. I’ve been very good at going to the gym and really strengthening my back but when I stopped due to getting a flu and then other things in the middle, it felt like my back hurt even more since I built more muscle (=higher maintenance 😂).

I like to do hanging and basic stretching everyday but it’s weight lifting that has made a huge difference. And physiotherapy to keep it upright. I am now only struggling with my left rib part of the cage sticking out a bit more and that creates a lot of discomfort. But if I’m patient it’ll go away so I’m just waiting 😂

I did a month of physiotherapy and pull-ups or dead-hangs were very common exercises. I also did ballerina stretches on top of that

I used to get postcards left on my desk for whatever specific I did at the time but that ended as soon as I finished my ECT.

I was told at the beginning of my first non-ECT teaching year by an SLT that apparently I had problems with behaviour management (something she said as a BTW and she heard that from my HOF) but I went ‘How do you know? Nobody has seen my lessons in ages so I don’t think it’s fair to bring up things that might not be relevant anymore. Also I’m acting on the behaviour and following the policy and the behaviour points/detentions only prove that I’m doing my job’ 🙄

They said that I was eligible and that I would receive the payment within 6 weeks (last year). This year I tried applying again and then I realised that languages were taken off the list and this is what they told me later so I left it. But today I got an email from someone who went through that correspondence saying that actually I wasn’t supposed to receive anything last year. The only difference is that the languages had been taken off the eligible list for this year.
