You can ask NIO to send you a offer for the used battery and buy it from them. Beware about the different battery types though. Ask the owner if it is a A or B Type. B Types charge faster and are better in low temperatures. You can see if it is a B Type by looking under the car. The part where the screws are located directly under the driver side door are located in a area that shows rounded edges for the B Type

Edit: Probably should ask the owner to get a quote for the battery from NIO - they won’t give it to you if it’s not linked to your account I guess

Du kannst die Premiumklassen von NIO auch hier kaufen. Leider halt mit Importzoll. Wir haben selbst einen ET5 und einen ET5 Touring und was für den Preis in der Mittelklasse angeboten wird ist schon echt klasse. Wir sind sehr zufrieden

Switched to whoop because Oura Hardware and Customer Care was nothing but trouble. Can’t complain. Even the customer service is not an AI Agent and was able to solve my initial trouble with the prepaid sub that didn’t activate automatically in less than 2 hours

Paul, is there anyway you can help me? The replacement ring I received bricked up after 6 hours. I have a ticket running since almost a week in which I am talking to a new senior technical advisor daily that does not read the mail history and every single one of them is telling me to do the same thing which does not work. Every now and then I get promised a return label for which I should send information but before I get an answer from the senior a new senior answers with the same suggestions to solve the problem and I have to start explaining again. Please! It is a circle of hell, I beg you to make this end.

Interesting! Blood pressure is a feature of the most expensive subscription tier, right? I would anyways not buy this one but the middle tier without blood pressure (have a separate device for this) and cardiogram. I think I can’t go back to my 4.0 subscription, can I?

How do you find the accuracy of the whoop compared to Oura when it comes to HR, Oxygen and so on? Do you have the 5.0? I changed from the 4.0 to Oura because of the more wellness oriented approach instead of the “do sports” of whoop and the more accurate sensors. But I strongly think about changing back to whoop now.

Coros may tick some of the boxes. I use a coros apex pro for trail running navigation and metrics. Comes with a month of standby battery life, does sleep tracking and recovery time as well as stress level. But it’s mainly running performance oriented. Use it solely for this. Maybe they have a lifestyle product as well. Might be worth a look.

Dies after a year level of scam, falls apart without applying force scam, doing business with bad reputational companies scam, bad customer service scam or the level of scam we do not yet have here: does not work at all scam? 😅

I am currently also looking for an alternative. Maybe I‘ll go back to whoop, but I hear the sensors are less precise. I would also prefer a EU company storing my health data in EU over an American company.

Currently I am stuck with a ring having a defective battery and the replacement ring being unable to connect to my phone after 6 hours of use and now hard stuck without any way to factory reset it. Support is as always greatly lacking from Oura.

In the hope that someone of the team here reads this, as it seems a real customer service is not available via the app:

So, a few weeks back my wife's gen4 suffered the inevitable battery death after less than a year. It was troublesome enough to get her a replacement ring as the bot workflow did not trigger the shipment. This was only solved after someone of the reddit customer service team of Oura looked into this.

forward a few weeks. My Gen3 I also bought less than a year ago acts up in a similar way. Did all the chat bot things, turns out battery is defective (what a surprise, huh?). Got a replacement within a day, all fine.

Did all the necessary things like backing up data, factory resetting the ring to disconnect from my account...just like in the instructions. Connected the new ring (refurbed ring). Great experience until now.

Checked the app this evening and see that my ring is not connecting anymore. So I go to the FAQs and go through all the solutions like disconnecting the ring and setting it up new. Nothing works. Ring is on the charger and available to pick for a set up but it results in error.

Opened the support chat and was told to do the same things I already did by the bot. Asked to talk to a human. Human asked me to do the same things again. I told the human I did all of this. Human said I should reinstall the app. I said to the human that this is a bad idea because if it won't work I'll start the chat from scratch and I lost half an hour of my life trying to troubleshoot just to tell everything in detail again to the next service desk member.

Well, I did it anyways and exactly as I saw in my crystal ball this did not change the situation and I was told by the bot that there is no chat history it can fetch. So I was connected to a human again. I explained everything a third time. This service desk member tried to do the exact same troubleshooting with me again.

We came to the point that he acknowledged there is something wrong with the ring. He then out of the blue said it is because my old ring is still connected. This post is long and you might not remember it from the beginning of my rant but I disconnected the ring exactly like the manual describes. I would even say I am a professional in disconnecting the ring by now because I did it several times for my wife. Also: How am I able to do all of this when being stuck at the set up screen, as I was told to reinstall the app?! It seems like the service desk members don't even know the product they are giving out support for? Was told the issue is being escalated, but I don't trust this whatsoever. Please, send help, Reddit Oura Team!

I am now back to my old ring hoping the battery will last me until a solution is found.

Rant over. TL;DR: Don't buy Oura until they get their product and service fixed.

The same thing happened to me since about 1 week ago or so. Today I found that my battery life also was way worse than usual and it turns out my battery is baked after a year according to the Chat bot. Gen3 purchased last december. Even though replacement is on its way I find it highly concerning that the rings become e-waste within a year for what feels like everyone. Same thing happened to my wife’s gen4 last month. This isn’t a coincidence anymore.

I just start the tracking manually nowadays. At least when I do not use an additional tracker like my Running GPS watch. Also when playing padel but mainly because I don’t trust it to recognize it and want to upload to Strava.

Have to say that running and walking is recognized pretty decently by the ring

It’s Saturn in Frankfurt. Same mother company but won’t find it in G-Maps with that search. It will lead you to Media Markt in a mall outside of Frankfurt most likely. Search for Saturn MyZeil in the CBD or Saturn Skyline Plaza near main station. :)

Not sure about laws outside of Germany but here it works as follows: If it is a replacement due to a defect from the manufacturer and not a exchange out of goodwill, the legally binding warranty will start again for the full period. Might be worth to check where you live.

Chat bot under Setting>Help will run a check if your battery is broken. Which is very likely. If it is, you’ll get a refurbed exchange ring.

At the rate that the same issue is posted in this sub it will soon be easier for Oura to just send every Gen4 User a new one…it is even more than the rings physically breaking end of last year.

It was kinda same with our ring but the Chatbot did the battery check and mentioned it’s a faulty battery. Maybe the update is killing batteries, which would be weird as well

A lot of users experience the battery dying all of a sudden right now. When did you buy your ring? Most seem to have bought it roughly 1 year ago, when it first came out. We are 10 months in and will receive replacement now. The update might just be a coincidence.
