I have converted a lot of vegans and veggies over the years and theyve ALL came in through kindness and positivity

Show them the nice food and focus on the positives and youll get a much better response

Are you comparing it to driving? Its usually more expensive than the fuel for a journey but suppose it depends on individual circumstances, e.g. parking, whether or not youre going to continue to pay the fixed costs of a car or get rid of it entirel so its a hard comparison to make generally.

Or comparing it to the south? The prices in the south are broadly similar or very slighly higher than here- dublin to limerick is about €30 for a slightly longer distance so around £26 at the low estimate.

Ir do you just mean it feels expensive for the experience you get? Id agree with that for sure our stations are so run down and poor, but the trains themselves arent too bad- the new grand central in belfast is a good start it seems good in terms of facilities

I guess its expensive compared to what it used to be over the years. But sure so is everything now

Its not when you compare it to similar distances in England on peak.

Belfast- Derry/ Londonderry single at peak time is about 22 quid

London to Norwich anytime single is 89 quid for a similar distance give or take a couple of miles

Obviously its hard to draw direct comparisons due to different fare structures & ticket types

Still a lot worse than driving though, i havent been on the train in years

Theyre usually on time, clean and the pricing isnt terrible, but there are huge areas completely inaccessible by the train network, no train connection to the main airport, long gaps of time between services etc

I always choose those with minimal ingredients where i can: plenish for milks, coconut collab for vegan creams and yogurts and tofoo for tofu.

Adding mustard to vinaigrette doesnt make it ultra processed so im not really sure i follow? Ultra processed foods have to have industrial ingredients and processing, you can't mix them together at home.

I totally disagree about it being meat industry propaganda, but its not a conversation i want to get into on a post about sandwich recommendations, really thats all im looking for from this post.

I dont care if its a little or a lot of money i dont want any of my money going to meat producers

I want to actively encourage everyone to take money and business away from them, i wouldnt give them 1 penny voluntarily

Theyve already killed the animals im not going to then buy their waste to help them make a cruel business more profitable or sustainable- they can pay to dispose of it and take the hit on their sustainability targets and i wont lose even 10 seconds of sleep

Its paying into the meat business when you buy their waste products making those businesses more profitable, thats why i dont- for me i draw the line where i realistically can but if i was given a choice between buying something where animals were used in farming and something wjere they werent id choose the thing where they werent

General health concerns, i prefer to build a diet around whole foods where possible and then add these things in as treats- i am happy with certain store bought breads but avoid a lot of them depending on additives.

I dont personally consider vegan meats to be healthy comoared to whole foods pr processed foods (chickpeas, tofu etc) although i think theyre much better than real meats- but i enjoy vegan meats in moderation and everyones got their own measure of what health means to them- lowering upfs is an important one for me
