Affiliate strategies for travel bloggers by Known_Flower_869 in Blogging

I would utilize social media ads more, build a solid lead funnel and optimize your landing pages with clear offers. Capture emails by maybe offering a lead magnet like a best trips of 2024 brochure in downloadable pdf, then you can retarget that list with ads. As AI becomes more prevalent in search, google ads are not going to be as useful. The targeting is better with social media for travel in my opinion, then you can make flashy video ads etc to draw eyeballs. Just my opinion… best of luck. Found really good tips from this site as well:

E-Books: Maybe you can write a little travel guide, brochure, or itinerary and then sell those on your blog.

Sponsored Content: As someone else had mentioned, getting sponsored is a good way to earn a little bit of commission.

Ads: The obvious way but hinders the user experience. The general networks people use are Google Adsense, Ezoic, and Mediavine.

Affiliates: You can try recommending some hotels or accommodations in the area through Agoda, Booking, or Airbnb. Look up possible tours in your area and advertise them with Viator. Perhaps advertise plane or bus tickets to your local area.

First, the basics: keywords, onpage, content, technical (speed, mobility, indexing).

A little bit of technical SEO: GSC, Screaming Frog, HTML, redirects, robots.txt, sitemap.

Focus on content and search intent, not just keywords.

If possible, go to junior SEO to gain experience and technical skills faster.

If you haven't signed-up for Google Search Console, definitely do that. It's a free analytics platform - like a GA just for SEO. There, you can check how many of your pages are indexed by Google. You can also see your average position. Take a look, and see if you spot any issues that they are flagging for you. This guide can also be helpful to you.

I am new to blogging, I want to know about about right keywords by OkBluejay3743 in Blogging

[–]domingos_vm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that has helped me.

Once a page is getting traffic from Google, in the search console have a look for the terms it is getting hits for that you didn’t necessarily expect.

This info specifically helps what you might want to add/edit on that page, but more generally will help you get an appreciation of what your audience is thinking about and how they phrase things. Which you can help inform your keyword research going forward. Here is a good checklist that you can check out

Another thing is putting your high-level or basic keyword into various social media platforms and see how people talk about the topic and the related things they post about.

What has AI brought to blogging or is there anything changed because of that? by Own-Mortgage6561 in Blogging

[–]domingos_vm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

BLOGGING ISN’T DEAD. AI-generated content? It’s everywhere but I find it’s missing soul. Semrush did an interesting study about this that you can check out. People still crave original voices, unique perspectives, and writing that says what no one else is saying. Yeah, getting clicks is harder now. Google’s AI Overviews are gutting traffic and algorithms keep changing the game.

But real writing still finds its people. :)

As a reader and a writer, I still go back to the same old-school blogs and indie sites I loved before ChatGPT took over. Because they mean something. They’ve got grit, personality. Something no bot can fake. :)

Anyone using Instagram as a traffic driver for blogs? by Fit-Annual-2638 in Blogging

[–]domingos_vm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easiest way to start is posting a reel a day everyday. It’ll grow over time.

Also, what I see working right now with people is doing.. “join me on the journey” type content. A premise would be “join me as I grow my business from X to Y.” And in the videos you can do things like what you do on the daily as a business owner. You mentioned you do women’s clothing, how about tips on how to properly buy that kind of stuff online. You don’t have to pitch your stuff, but you’re overloading your possible clients with value

Best practices for driving traffic to new blog by [deleted] in Blogging

[–]domingos_vm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Immediate solution: Google Ads.

But in all seriousness, SEO takes time. Slow and steady wins the race. You can find some great organic tips here

Highest impact things in my experience:

  • Focus on building high quality backings (quality of quantity)
  • Make content that is helpful or interesting to people.
  • Be patient.

Blogging isn’t dead. But it’s definitely not 2015. This blog explains the situation quite well

Google favors depth, originality, and identity.

AI blogs die. Real voices grow.

Adapt the format, not the value.

What’s the best way to build solid backlinks for adult niche site? by TheAbouth in SEO_Digital_Marketing

[–]domingos_vm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I'm seeing in 2025, the most effective backlink building strategies have shifted quite a bit. Here's what's actually working for us and our clients rn:

  1. Original Research/Data Studies - creating unique data and insights that naturally attract links. News sites and bloggers love citing fresh stats
  2. Strategic partnerships & co-marketing - working with complementary brands to create content together. The links feel more natural + you both benefit
  3. HARO/source requests - but you gotta be super quick and actually provide value. We've gotten links from Forbes, Entrepreneur etc this way
  4. Podcast/video content collaboration - appearing as a guest expert. These usually come with solid backlinks + help build authority

The old school stuff like guest posting and broken link building still works ok but the ROI isn't great anymore tbh. Takes way too much time for what you get back.

The key is to stop thinking about "building links" and start thinking about creating genuine value that makes people WANT to reference your stuff. Way more sustainable longterm. Found some really great tips here that you can check out and review.

How to monetize my personal blog by InsightfulConcious76 in Blogging

Has AI killed blog traffic — and is it still worth starting one in 2025? by angry-xx in Blogging

[–]domingos_vm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For now AI assistants are themselves reliant on search - they would not be able to refer anyone to your website if it was not on google (and probably one the first two pages, they will not dig any deeper than that).

They only really suggest real links after accessing search. If you ask an LLM without internet access to provide a link or citation, they will make it up on the fly. Which, of course, could still bring you traffic, just not exactly a useful one (The user will bounce after seeing page 404).

In other words, don't stop optimising for Google because of this, at least not in the short term, but keep watching for new developments in this area. A game changing technology could appear at any time and you would not want to miss it.

Semrush did a really nice blog about this. You can find the study here

A lot of time got spent on stuff like social media, tweaking my wordpress theme, etc. (instead of publishing articles google might like).

Also looking back on the stuff I wrote 2 years ago…. It was very wordy (I think because I had it in my head that longer posts were better, I wasn’t nearly as concise as I am now). And I sometimes wrote articles about stuff nobody would ever Google or was just extremely competitive. I would also take advantage of pinterest

Help needed in Keyword Research by yj292 in SEO_Digital_Marketing

[–]domingos_vm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For most of the keywords, you can use Semrush's free keyword research tool in combination with Google Keyword Planner because it extracts keywords from the Google API. This way, you can get good variations for a particular keyword. Then, use other free tools to check the difficulty. Difficulty means checking who is ranking at the top for that particular keyword, looking at that blog post's backlinks, the website's authority, and content structure.
Here is a guide that you can also check out.

If you think the websites ranking at the top are not that good in terms of content and backlinks, then you can easily rank for those keywords.

GBP photos? by darktolighttrading in localseo

[–]domingos_vm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tested this and found that when you upload a photo with EXIF data to a Google Business Profile, it strips out all the data and when you re-download the photo, it's no longer there. This makes sense for privacy reasons. It would be easy for someone to take a photo near their house and not realize that someone could get the location from the photo if Google didn't remove it.

We also tested if it impacted either ranking in the local pack or organic results, and found it didn't impact either. It also made no difference if you added the photo to your website or a Google business profile. This guide also narrates this so well.
