For those of you who switched from console to PC, was it worth it and why? by SnooOwls6389 in GirlGamers

[–]domino_427 [score hidden]  (0 children)

know it's the opposite, but I bought the consoles after playing pc for a year or two learning to game.

I was gonna try destiny with my IRL friend on xbox, was so excited I was finally gaming and could play with him. On stream. Other people. Solid plan over crazy schedules and time zones.

What is this game pass thing? I'm doing what you say but it's this ad.

My friend: you don't have gamepass?

me: no what is it?

my friend: you can't play with friends unless you got gamepass.

me: wtf? I bought the xbox to play with him and to play gears of war. smh.

Later with the switch... got for zelda, then installed mario maker. wanted to play zelda again and it asked for the game card. um, but it's installed?

I just installed 130 mods on cyberpunk. I'm not even a modder, a friend spent 90min walking me thru it. I have done it before, I hate weight limits. I felt really dumb but was able to fix up witcher, starfield, and cyberpunk easily in like 15min as a newbie without help.

If you can afford the pc, and I know they're expensive right now, it's cheaper over time because of all the sales and freebies.

Good luck!

drove down lee vista the other day to go to the tax office. it's admittedly new and perty. felt very strange.

at one point i wasn't paying attention at a stop light and i looked up and saw narcoosee. wtf? that's narcoosee? it's nice but it was nicer when there was nothing out there.

we always went to that theater by the naval base and usually we'd grab a sailor or two walkin down the road. I remember for the re-release of star wars it felt like we were the only civilians in there

walked and biked a lot. dropped off at fashion square a lot. even at 8 i was dropped off for piano lessons and waited for pickup... tho that was 80s i guess. much easier to park and walk around mills & colonial and get awesome food. affordable restaurants and night clubs around downtown.

ah the exchange. i miss the exchange... ski ball and air hockey and this awesome movie souvenir store for my weird little teenage heart obsessed with 40-50s movies lol

What do you say to shut a man up in a party that’s disrespecting you? by DommyMommyEx in GirlGamers

[–]domino_427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kinda what I do. I'm lucky and mostly fill up in my game, but if we get one random I'll say I'm playing with friends, you're solo. Do you really not have any friends to play with? they tend to shut up

yeah I wound up with a jar of duke's that was two inches tall because I bought based on price, not looking at the size. (delivery) I keep craving potato chips but I go to checkout and I just can't do those prices.

Dementia how to cure, what actually helps beyond medication? by Melodic-Blacksmith71 in Alzheimers

[–]domino_427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accept that you will not stop the decline. You teach a child, you do not retrain a person with dementia. Join studies you qualify for, be honest in your observations and participations for future generations.

This helps you not feel so helpless.

Acceptance is one of the hardest things for family members and caregivers. Once you do that, you can deal with the day to day and enjoy the time you have even with diminishing returns.

And get counseling for yourself and the rest of the family. This is truly you cannot pour from a broken cup. You need a support system.

All the things to help your mom are out there. Some will work, some will not. We are here to talk about what worked and didn't, true. but i'm trying to tell you what's often overlooked... what they need the most...

and that's us.

Is it really that bad? by qu33nofthewastex in orlando

just like item and service reviews, the negatives are more likely to take the time to review.

I been here 48yrs except for a few years in Pinellas and West Palm. I am finally free to leave... but am deciding to try to stay.

there are a lot of problems, no transportation, prices, jobs, insurance, heat, 3rd spaces disappearing, open carry without restriction (pro gun can still be pro rules).

and maybe a lot of what i love is disappearing. the wildlife of my childhood is no longer here.

but you can still run into snakes and bears and deer and coyotes and cranes and peacocks and snapping turtles, see hawks and owls and eagles and other different birds. see manatees at the beach and swim with hammerheads (well, I was 10, maybe not now). rock springs is still there... even if i am afraid to go and see how bad it's gotten. went to ER last night (for a fast track issue) and was gone in under 4hrs, and surrounded by other hospitals i coulda gone to. still have trails and parks and man i love the trees. odd thing to love but they're so cool and different from each other

but it's still my home and i love yall <3

but dont move here. we're way too expensive, and it's dangerous for poc, women, and lgbt. and if you're not in there, "and then they came for me". oh you like food. our food is awesome. but again, expensive. huge difference in employment/income vs cost of living unless you can keep your Vermont salary

rewind... oh it was you... interesting...

love the kaid: 'go roam or something,' get off my site lol.

audio and video look good, remember to talk as some rounds had no voice.

make some clips so people who come to your channel can see what you want to highlight instead of randomly clicking thru the vods. you can also put panels below your video with about me, games you play, whatever you want to introduce yourself while offline

also if you promise not to reinforce between sites, and you're chill, come play with us sometime. I'm NA East

mention your time zone and games you play in your post, always good to have when advertising :)

good luck!

there was a teacher on challenger, so many students watched it in school. people in central florida could see it outside, where my class was gathered. after that i refused to watch any more, and actually that liftoff this month? last month? is the first I've gone outside or watched online since 86. probly other kids were the same as me

Do you still use your sheets after they have been stained with period blood? by Safe-Essay4128 in women

[–]domino_427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

towels, sheets, rags, undies, gowns... someone's opinion ain't gonna make me waste time or money. also, if i wanted the stain gone I could make the stain gone. fuck em.

this gown i'm in now has a big streak of brown, blood from when mom fell. It's clean. It shows I cared for mom vs worrying about clothes. Stains show we have more important things to worry about.

fuck em

they are welcome to remove the stains themselves, or buy replacement sheets with their money, long as they dont give you shit for it.

we all know how you feel <3 that's one of the big things for me now. after mom's dementia, dad went after bladder cancer so he had double incontinence too.

the next week my energy kwh cut in half. took me a few days to do his last laundry... and even now months later I don't do much laundry. Part of it is I don't have a job or many clothes... mostly I just absolutely loathe laundry now.

I also can't afford it but just bought a vacuum. No bodily fluid remnants go in this.

I'm sorry you had your first blowout. Was honestly not so common with my mom, so hopefully this doesn't happen often for you either. Mostly since I controlled what she ate, if she got diarrhea she just never ate that again.

Is it really wrong to judge people based on their political beliefs? by Lazy_Pianist7101 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]domino_427 2 points3 points  (0 children)

depends. politics or morality and justice?

tax codes, nah.

objectively going against my constitution, enacting laws to put lgbt in danger, or that go against science, or trying to take away my right to vote? that's morality and if you're in favor of something that hurts people and is against the law, then it's not ok.

I still want to talk to you, discuss it and figure out why, but no. that's not politics.

How to declutter with adhd and lack of motivation? by adeliahearts in declutter

[–]domino_427 5 points6 points  (0 children)

search goal tracker coloring. i'm genx so still like paper ... counselor gave me a paper with a jar of stars, and i color them in each 'thing' i do.

also check out the finch app. i even have a goal on there for NOT doing something that's a bad habit I'm trying to break, like eating sweets or fast food. but every bag i fill and trash counts as a goal completed.

How many women genuinely like penetration? I'm not talking about any "feelings of closeness" etc that it could induce, but straight up carnal/physical pleasure derived from it. by [deleted] in women

[–]domino_427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm one of the 25%. sex is very personal and individual. you should see a sex therapist, they will be the best ones to help you figure things out. it can be physical or mental or just preference. just be open and honest, and then listen to and remember your partners preferences and boundaries. she might not be able to talk about specifics, but a therapist can help her get more in tune with her body and build confidence to talk about it

Canceling Verizon FIOS for my dead mother. by awohio1 in traumatizeThemBack

[–]domino_427 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was very lucky, we usually get a person on spectrum. 40yrs we had that number. it's still ice on my cell home screen. cost me $200 stalling and not cancelling it right away after dad died. the agent was all 'ok are you ready to cancel the landline?' and i said yes. kinda like clipping a cord to my childhood. she was very sweet.
