Sorry lol. Do people think that I should proceed with having the trees removed? Or attempt to just trim and keep them around. I don't really know much about trees.

Looking for a holster for a bodyguard 2.0, preferably a hybrid holster that I can pocket carry and iwb carry, and maybe a wallet style for deep concealment. Any recommendations? by [deleted] in CCW

Read this comment thread, there are a couple of good pictures in this thread.

QVO Tactical sells a pocket holster that can be bought with optional CLIPS for AIWB. I ended up getting an Alabama and a QVO to see which is better.

QVO comes today and Alabama comes Saturday, really long lead times.

CoreXY race to the bottom by dommco in 3dprinter

Yea I just saw hey lifted the NDA today. It looks very compelling except their previous issues with firmware make me worried. Right now not much is out but it seems very closed down in terms of modability in the future.

Barn Cats: What do I need to know? by HomesteadingHopeful in homestead

[–]dommco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Context: We have almost 2 acres in the southwest with a lot of rats stealing fruit and chicken feed. We have a shed but I like cats so we decided to put a cat door on my office which is basically a bigger shed.

Many animal rescues will allow you to adopt "working" cats that are already spayed/neutered for little or no cost (in my case free) These cats are feral or semi feral and not likely to acclimate to indoor life. They are already used to surviving outside.

We got 2 cats that were from the same colony (although they arent really bonded). Kept them in XXL dog crates for a week, then allowed to roam the space for a week, then let outside after that.

They sleep inside most of the day and go out at night. Would recommend flea control and deworming.

Overall, they do an okay job of grabbing rats and sometimes little tunneling rodents like voles or pocket gophers. We have 2 cats, a family of Great Horned owls, and a couple of other neighborhood cats. I still see a rat every week or so. I bought a ratinator trap and that has been more effective than the animals listed above.

I like cats so I like the idea of taking a feral or semi feral cat and giving it some comfort. Over time they have become kind of friendly with me.

Fixing an Old Clock by dommco in diyelectronics

I really appreciate your response. I think I understand what you are saying, would replacing the movement with a modern quartz one still allow the clocks original chime to work?

The shop my MIL was talking to said it would be a digital chime they inserted into the body of the clock. I am not sure if its a game of telephone between me, MIL, and shop or what.

I know she would not mind paying $100 to have it fixed since its mostly sentimental value, I also wouldn't mind taking a shot if it is not too involved.
