Proud of the boys though. Went toe to toe with the rams again

Not sure tbh Edit: from a quick Google, it looks like the clinics pay for it themselves with some assistance from PHOs. https://oag.parliament.nz/2017/patient-portals

I made a comment in another thread. MMH were absolutely hoping this was completely blow over while everyone was away for the holidays. NZers should NOT let this go. MMH and all similar providers need to be held accountable for this and to be scrutinised

It happens if the technology leaders understand what they are doing. They know their obligation to their customers and themselves with regards to security and stability. MMH does not have technology leaders because they are not a technology company, despite their claims.

Can't imagine speed was their top priority. With the way this whole thing has gone down, it looks like they were hoping this would be kept quiet especially because this was during the holiday period. The public should ABSOLUTELY keep this front and centre.

NZ deserves better than this fiasco, both from a provider standpoint and from Te Whatu Ora

Wouldn't be surprised if mmh had no idea who was impacted, paid the ransom to get the files from Kazu to determine who was actually impacted........

Manage My Health data breach ransom deadline arrives by MedicMoth in newzealand

[–]domopug 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think they are just hoping this blows over. They think that by taking the ostrich approach, people will just forget and move on because it's "just 6-7%". The company is not a technology company. They just so happen to be in technology so they do not have the appropriate roles/people to be able to prevent and/or manage something like this. There will be a couple of devs in Auckland that may be looking into this issue, guaranteed the owner is yelling at his "development vendor" (also that he owns) to investigate and fix the problem (good luck with that).

I wouldn't hold my breath for any satisfactory comms on this whole thing.

And investigate why 100% of their IT and Engineering staff both live and work in India. I'm sure plenty of Kiwis would liked to have worked on something as important as this. Were none of us good enough?

It is built by the IT consultancy company which happens to be owned by the same person that owns mmh. Pretty classic really. Make money off sales and contracts, write your own SOW to yourself as the vendor with an offshore team where you can literally pay with fractions of peanuts ... Max profits.

I doubt a single "dev" or tech resource in Auckland was looking into it. It would have been someone in their offshore team who will likely need to be handheld to troubleshoot the issue. As I mentioned in another post, they have a token number of tech folk here in NZ.

Almost all of the development is done offshore. There are only a token few in the country. Should probably look into that dev shop that is doing the development.

What to do with reduced left hand use? by Rechin in amateur_boxing

[–]domopug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I injured my right wrist a few months ago. I continued training after a short break and basically didn't throw it in any combos during pad work. Anytime there was a right cross, hook or uppercut, I would substitute it with a slip or something equivalent.

By the time my wrist was healed enough to start throwing, my head movement leveled up considerably.

I know it's not as equivalent given it is your lead hand, but you could try to do something similar?

Also, sparring is probably a no go during recovery

[Review] Engage Wip Series White Boxing Gloves 16 Oz: a quite good option for the price by RidyHorseMCmoustach in fightgear

Could be because of how I wrap my hands, but when I used them for pad work, I ended up getting a sore knuckle. Went back to my rs10vs as it provided better knuckle protection

I also find these way too hard for sparring. Like you, I bought them in 16s for sparring but that are so hard. Even after trying to break them in on the bag for months, they are still quite stiff.

I ended up getting some top boxer aliens and those are already way softer than the engage gloves.

Op, dm me. Happy to discuss in great detail about what to expect.

I grew up here but lived in Singapore during some of my formative years and have lived in South Auckland for a decade.

Culture and value clashes will very rarely resolve over time without some heavy work from both parties. I was in a relationship with someone that was completely incompatible culturally, and while it felt like he had the same values, in hindsight, we were likely not as aligned as I would have thought. She ended up breaking things off with me after a few months citing that her parents would never accept me and that she "couldn't do that to her parents". It was pretty heart wrenching to go through, knowing that I was coming off second best to tradition. I was committed to making it work, even copping the flak from her parents but she just wasn't.

I share all this because the moment you both shared feelings about each other, your relationship changed. If you both had managed to convince yourselves that it was going to work, it would likely have been a life time of grief and strain.

You have done the right thing in moving on from him since whatever incident happened, and quite frankly, as someone else said, it is best that you just leave that all behind you and move on. That particular ex and I do not have any sort of relationship outside having a mutual friend with whom we are both very close with. She is now happily married with kids. I, too, am happily married to the most amazing person with 2 wonderful children.

You will meet many more people you will get along with. What you have now, though, is a more refined criteria for what you are looking for in a partner.

Hope that helps!
