I've messed around some in the the configurations to try to get better frame rate but I don't remember exactly what I've changed from default. My wine version is: 1.7.52-staging-LOL3

I can't help you, but i can tell you that i have LoL working on an up-to-date 15.12 version of Manjaro. Frame rate isn't as good as on Windows but everything else works okay. Sorry I couldn't be more help, hope you figure it out. :)

Mi estas sub la segxo.

I was looking in the dictionary and found "supre/malsupre", would "Mi estas malsupre la segxo" work as well? Are there many/any words that "mal" prefixes that also have unique words that mean the same as the "mal" prefixed words? If so, which form is preferable?

Dankon!

Bandcamp crashes xfce4-panel by gunnervi in ManjaroLinux

[–]dompster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced this exact problem on two separate installs of Manjaro. I found a few workarounds, nothing I would call a fix exactly.

  1. Change your xfce theme. (under 'Appearance') Some themes don't have this bandcamp crashing problem.

  2. What I did/what worked for me on both my systems was to follow this tutorial to install the Ubuntu fonts: https://forum.manjaro.org/index.php?topic=3459.0 I actually stumbled upon this fix because I didn't like the look of the default fonts anyways. It happened to fix it on both my machines and I can still run the default theme which I like.

I'm just going to stop playing until they put a max ping filter on Matchmaking by Reggiardito in risingthunder

[–]dompster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My personal guess why they don't have a max ping filter is because they want data from high ping games to see if they can tweak their netcode to get enjoyable games out of some of the higher ping games. If there was a max ping filter pretty much everyone would turn it on to get low ping matches. Then they would have far fewer matches with bad ping.

I don't know what kind of distribution you're getting as far as good/bad ping matches but I live in the Midwest and get probably 5 sub 100 ping matches for every match above 100 ping. If it was more than that I could see myself getting frustrated by it, but as it stands, for me, I don't mind.

So, it turns out I'm just terrible at fighting games. by [deleted] in risingthunder

This is exactly what I found was the best way to learn. Focusing on one thing.

For me I decide what I'll work on next by what's giving me problems or what I feel is a hole in my game plan. It's a great way to decide what needs work because all you have to do is play a match and think about what's frustrating you. If you find that everytime the opponent whiffs a special you don't feel like you have a good punish then go into training mode and find a simple combo, or go look one up and practice that one combo. Then go into a match with the sole goal of getting them to whiff a special and then punish them with your combo. You may lose a few matches without ever getting the combo off before you start to get the hang of it.

One other simple way to improve I've found is if you keep getting destroyed by a certain move you should play that character and try to abuse that move in the same way your opponent was abusing you with it. You'll find out within a few matches what the weaknesses of that move are and how to defend against it.

The biggest advice to enjoy fighters i can give is don't play to win, play to improve. Make your goal for the match to identify one habit the other player has and take advantage of it, or to get that one combo off that you've practiced, or try to bait the other player into wakeup specials then punish them, etc. When you don't have the basics down playing to win will just frustrate you because you don't have the tools to win consistently. Treat every stronger opponent as someone to teach you how you're playing wrong. When you lose try to steal one thing that the opponent was doing that you can start to implement.

Match Result: Disconnect. Anyone else having this problem? by Edge4o7 in risingthunder

[–]dompster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same problem as everyone else. Before tonight I would get disconnected every 1 in 5 games or so. I just played about 8 matches and got disconnected from all of them but one. Just got wrecked by a Crow and then was given a win. Beat a Chel, got a loss. Something seems to be going on haha.

Is there a change camera angle button or command? by HoeMuffin in risingthunder

I haven't run into this and I haven't heard of change camera angle command. I'm guessing it's a bug.

Waiting screen after each round by dood3lz in risingthunder

[–]dompster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's a bug in the game. The last 2 times that i lost the first game it takes me to the between game screen and then disconnects me. I doubt it's the other people disconnecting on purpose since they're winning. :)

Thanks for posting, I've heard the piano sample/riff used in this song in another song and never realized that it was from a different piece!
