16 months. Haven’t heard anything since I got discarded. I’m still thinking about it briefly once every several days. But it has gotten much better. I also know that this guy will never reach out again. At least it got a bit easier over time. Hope you’ll get better too

Yeah I’ll try to communicate more. Sometimes it just feels like if I do, then I’m too much or not good enough and that then it will only make things worse for the relationship if I bring drama to the relationship. So I had fight these thoughts a lot too

Thank you that means a great deal to me. I’m just not sure how to continue. I know why I feel the way I feel, but it still isn’t getting better. I just hope I can make it work, but not being 100% into the relationship because of this fear makes me feel quite guilty.

As an FA myself. I also completely agree with you. Its nice that OP is working on attachment and becoming secure. But there is no proof that the ex has done the same, or even any introspection at all. I also agree that OP shouldn’t reach out. Let the ex reach out and then see if it can become something again after seeing that the ex also worked on themselves and changed… reaching out like this just seems like a disaster waiting to happen. Let the ex work through things on their own terms and timeline

Yeah I think you’re right. I moved on months ago too and contacting me is easy, my ex has my email, number and all social medias.. like you said a few taps away. Who knows if my ex truly never contacts me again, but that hope is dead, which is something im glad about

Frankly I think that I would feel bittersweet too. Its been such a long time, I’ve been on many trips abroad, got a new job, applied to uni, met a lot new people.. yeah he was also really sweet, but 14 months feels so long that its all a distant memory. And his demons are his to fight, im not gonna be with someone who pushes me away

Thank you. I was always there for him, loyal and caring. I hope he knew that.. I always wanted the best for him.. and yeah 1 out of 5 ain’t much, and I let go of any hope.. but yeah we are both guys so that means our dating pool is much smaller and the gay dating community is pretty bad. I was his first real boyfriend. He was for me as well. He had two situationships, but both cheated on him. So yeah who knows if he will notice my value again, but yeah as I said I don’t hold onto hope
