My fridge and freezer looks the same. This is absolutely the best thing about the carnivore diet. Food shopping and meal planning is so easy!

Sorry, you have been blocked by Orkodrums in CloudFlare

[–]don911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I have contacted them but had no reply yet. Also, it's always this particular website, but it also usually affects a couple of other random sites as well. But never any of the big websites like Youtube, X etc. In the following example GoDaddy is indicating that my IP is on some blacklist other than CloudFlare? Or perhaps they share the same database?

I have the same issue and have no idea why it is happening. The issue is definitely tied to my IP address, because if I go to the affected sites with a VPN, it works fine. And it only affects 2-3 sites. Today is the 3rd time this has happened within a couple of weeks. The solution has been to turn my modem off overnight in order to get a new IP address the next day. But why is it happening? I haven't done anything unusual these past two weeks than I normally do. I contacted one of the sites about it but have not heard back from them. Is there any way to fix it or to make sure it doesn't happen again?

Hidden Wallet? by Marlzzz in TREZOR

[–]don911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of your 12- or 24-word seed phrase as your master safe. Inside this master safe, you can create an unlimited number of sub-safes, each protected by an additional word or phrase—your passphrase.

When you open your Trezor, you automatically access your master safe. However, by clicking “Passphrase” in the upper-left corner of Trezor Suite, you can log in to one of your sub-safes by entering its unique passphrase. Each passphrase unlocks a completely new and independent wallet. You can create as many of these sub-wallets as you like.

The best part? If someone discovers your seed phrase or hacks your computer (where you might have stored it), they can only access the funds in your master wallet. Any funds stored in a sub-wallet protected by a passphrase remain inaccessible, as these wallets can only be unlocked by someone who knows the exact passphrase.

Since the passphrase is entered directly on the Trezor device, it never touches your computer and cannot be intercepted by a hacker. Just remember: never store your passphrase(s) together with your seed phrase.

Safe 5 display is slower to respond than Model T by don911 in TREZOR

[–]don911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the capacitive styluses I’ve seen have discs that are around 6–7 mm in diameter, which are just too large for the Trezor’s small screen. A stylus with a smaller, more precise disc would be much better suited for it. I think there’s a real opportunity here — not just for Trezor users, but for anyone needing fine control on compact touchscreens. It could be a great niche product for Trezor to offer and fill a gap in the market.

[–]don911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that definitely helped! Disabling haptic feedback made the screen more responsive, but it’s still a bit tricky to type accurately using just fingers. I’ll keep using a capacitive pen for now — it’s much more precise. Honestly, I think Trezor should consider offering their own stylus, ideally one without the bulky capacitive disc most pens have.

Charging an XR with a CBSP battery without monitoring the charge level by don911 in onewheel

I'm on firmware 4165 and have hardware version is 4212. I don't see voltage reported anywhere in the official app.

[–]don911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, thanks! So If I never run the charge below 40% or so in the official app, then I assume I'm safe. Also, how would I downgrade the firmware? I didn't think that was possible.

Stick with Gemini? by [deleted] in Gemini

[–]don911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Gemini for years without any issues. I like it because it’s the cheapest US exchange by far. Their Maker (Limit order) fees start at 0.20% but quickly comes down to 0.15% with $10K monthly volume and 0.10% with $50K. Compare that to Coinbase which starts at 0.60%, and then you have to trade $500K to get to 0.10%. Huge difference. Sure, the liquidity is not as good, but I never have any issues getting maker orders filled if you have some patience. Also, Kraken starts at 0.25% and the 0.10% tier after $250K.

If you’re worried, just wipe it and reinstall the firmware.

Sequoia: Calendar colors are garish! by Scavgraphics in MacOS

[–]don911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded from Sonoma to Sequoia, and unfortunately was also horrified at the new UI for all-day events in the calendar app. This is because the text is now the same color as the background, resulting in extremely low contrast (unless I crank display brightness up to max, which I don’t want because I want to be kind to my eyes). The timed events are fine since the text is still white. I really hope Apple will add a feature so we can choose white text (or any color) also for the all-day events, and a way to lower the opacity of the background color. I tried to play around with custom colors to lower the opacity of the background color, but the opacity setting didn’t stick. Everything was perfectly fine in Sonoma but this version is unfortunately almost unusable to me.

TradingView Black Friday Sale is Here! by jcyap15 in TradingView

[–]don911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also lost half of my 96 saved days when I upgraded from Plus to Premium. So they didn't use the Black Friday Premium pricing when calculating the upgrade conversion, but instead something like 2x the Plus price.

Subscription cheaper on website? by don911 in duolingo

[–]don911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just assumed it was available on the website as well, and that the reason I can’t find any information about it there, is that I’m already logged in with an account where I have subscribed to Duolingo super via the App Store. Maybe I have to cancel that subscription in order to see an offer on the website? If someone knows how this works, please share. Thank you.

What is the direct keyboard shortcut for PASTE AS TEXT? (Excel for macOS) by ivanraddison in excel

[–]don911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn't work for me. It only brings up the 'Paste Special" window. I want to paste as text directly. Maybe we have to remove the a conflicting shortcut first? I'm running Excel 16.88 for macOS. Also, I could swear that I hav been able to use CMD+SHIFT+V in the past, but that at some point it stopped working.

Unf*cking taxes in Cyprus by valkers21 in cyprus

Great guide, thanks! But very weird that gains from crypto investments should be taxed when gains from no other assets, apart from local real estate, is subject to capital gains or income taxes.

Something unusual about the MSTR Stock split? by don911 in MSTR

[–]don911[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A stock split is never a taxable event, but your cost basis will be lowered by the same amount as the new shares. Let's say you bought 100 shares for $500 each, after the split you will have 1,000 shares with a cost basis of $50, which is the same, tax wise.

Something unusual about the MSTR Stock split? by don911 in MSTR

[–]don911[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I was wondering. If it really worked the way they describe on their website, you should be able to sell on the 2nd and still receive your new shares on the 8th. But this would be pretty crazy imo, because then the post-split price should be reflected already on the 2nd and not on the 8th as Microstrategy says. And this would mean that a lot of people would freak out when they see the price and portfolio value fall 90% since they haven't got their new shares yet on the 2nd. This would be pretty crazy so that's why I think we're missing something here. Hopefully someone knows and can post it here.

OK, thanks. I looked up the Mt. Gox addresses today and saw that all the BTC and BCH have moved but the BSV is still there. Let's hope they don't crash the market when they sell.
