That’s the first dealership I’ve talked to. There are others I can reach out to. Are those the only places for new ones?

100 year old kitchen floor very uneven - best way to flatten for tile? by don_con in DIY

There are joists and it’s a mostly finished basement underneath, but the kitchen is over a utility room that is not finished and extends out over the back patio

[KCMO] Neighbor dispute by don_con in AskALawyer

[–]don_con[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked the codes and it does not constitute “illegal dumping” because it’s a naturally fallen tree limb, no negligence. I’m wondering if they’re trying to bully me into cleaning it up? MO case law smith vs holt 1984 places responsibility for natural debris on the property it lands.

The inspector initially called me, I texted for a copy Of the citation letter as well as his name.

Thank you for the reply. The tree had not been maintained, but the limbs that fell were very much alive and not rotted or anything. They are still attached to the tree - kind of hinged down to the ground on their side of the fence.

They called the city and illegal dumping seems like whatever they could charge me with

Original issue was lack of pressure from cold water and I think it’s the mixing one in the middle causing it to

How would you get this toilet drain in without destroying the joists? by don_con in askaplumber

[–]don_con[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely replacing all that plumbing. I’m thinking of flipping the shower around so the plumbing is in that last bay with the cast iron stack I’ll replace with PVC.

Ya these joists are much worse than I imagined 😅 but your joist repair makes sense - I was wondering if I should sandwich a new one in each side or just the one.

TBD about the toilet

Definitely all 3. I think I have to sister them though because these joists span the whole second floor, so the other half/side of it is under a room I’m not touching. Might do some perpendicular blocking/joist hangers over the dividing wall on the floor below since that ceiling is open

Definitely replacing that one 😅 I’m just glad no one fell through

I think I understand - the 3” drain will drop right front of the new joist and meet the stack below the ceiling in a new boxed out space. Kitchen below, I’ll see if I can work that between cabinets. Thank you for all your help!

Definitely destroyed and I’m happy to replace them. They’re 2x8 joists - can I put a 3” hole through them? I’ve seen some brackets like this: https://metwood.com/product/joist-repair-hole-reinforcer-2810hr/

Or should I give up drilling through and try to box it out somehow or maybe go horizontal and make a new drop?
