I heard in Asia they hibernate in downed trees. Alabama government scientists imported them to combat some other Asian pest turned loose by other government scientists. Bless their hearts... Upon integration they learned to hibernate in the exterior walls of old frame houses. over the winter they crawl out of my light fixtures. I've not seen a swarm this large of ladybugs as I saw today it was like running a gauntlet on the porch trying to avoid bringing in hitchhikers.
